Laziest front desk I have ever had the discomfort of dealing with. They just didn't care. In addition, I get it, CT is a chilly state but really - hoodies at the front desk? Some sort of uniform maybe? Room was old and tired, toilet wobbly, sink base caulked so many times it was nasty. I seldom give a poor review so I will add a pleasant thought - the hotel is attached to the City Diner which was a great little spot for dinner - food was amazing, crowded with locals and service excellent. There is an entrance from the hotel to the back of the dinner but if you arrive late, door is locked and you have to asked the hoodie staff at the desk to let you in. If you can find her. Do yourself a favor, walk outside, around the corner and use the regular entrance. They serve until 10 p.m. and well worth the small trek outside.

The price was right but It's not in a very good part of town. We were staying with another family with children. They loved the well-maintained indoor swimming pool and the well stocked continental breakfast. Flat screen TV. The housekeeping in our room was not acceptable. Big stain on the couch. Stains on the coffee table. Just not clean. We wouldn't stay there again.

Stuck here for two long nights after freak halloween snowstorm took out our heat and electric...only place with rooms and that quickly becomes obvious. Austere is being kind...minimalist is another...Spartan even. No bells...and no hot water! Smelled like chlorox. Free breakfast in a windowlesss interior room was depressing. The third nite we opted to go home and build a fire.
If you ever have a choice...go with the alternative.

The staff is quite friendly and helpful. That makes up a lot for the rest. BUT... there is 2 flight of stairs you have to pass w/your luggage before reahcing the elevator -why can't they have a ramp? And the elevator, oh boy, sometimes you're not sure if the thing will make it or not, or if you'll end up trapped inside. In my case I was on the 7th floor, so just imagine, I had to use it. Now, the rooms. At least in my case, the door had a 2-3 inches space between its botto9m and the floor, so in came all the noise from people talking outside, and the smell of cigarrettes. Any time. The breakfast place looks pretty hostile, like some kind of shelter food place... mold in the bathroom, old yellowish towels...In general, what I think is that they must renovate this place so it doesn't look like a B cops kind of movie. Nothing happened, but you just don't feel safe. What comes through the eyes has a heavy weight on your overal perception. Again, they're nice people, but, next time I prefer to stay at a more expensive place and feel more comfortable.
