I made the 3 hr drive from upstate NY to stay at the Super 8 in Stamford Ct. I stayed at this place with my husband and my dog.I was very happy that this was a pet friendly place to stay.Our room was clean and any requests that we had,the front desk was happy to assist us.

The hotel is disgusting. The hall near my hotel was stained red, and the rooms were dingy and moldy. Its cheaper than the rest of the hotels around the area but I can defenitly see why. I would have rather paid the 30 dollars extra and slept somewhere clean.

I had not expected much when I booked for this hotel. But was surprised that it was worse than I had thought. I arrived late and had to ring the doorbell for 5 minutes before someone opened the bulletproof door to let me in. I got a $80 rate that I thought a bit high even for being in the NY area. The room was not great but for the convinience of being close to NY at $80 what choice does one have.

I knew I was in trouble the minute I opened the door to the hotel and saw the bulletproof glass area for late night check in's. After receiving my room key I got in the elevator with a man carrying a 20 pack of beer. The hallway to my room smelled disgusting.

The room was a decent size and was slightly less filthy (at least what I could see) than the La Quinta in Stamford. However, there was pink sticky stuff all over the night stand. Neither the floor ramp, nor the alarm clock in the room worked. Most importantly, the door to the room did not have a dead-bolt.

Breakfast was a joke - there was one bagel, 20 mini croissants, 3 jelly doughnuts, juice and coffee. The breakfast room was packed, so I ate my food in the lobby.

As has been previously mentioned, the parking lot is very dark and that combined with the sketchy neighborhood, made it scary.

If you are a single woman traveling alone, I urge you not to stay here.
