I visited the Residence Inn in Southington, CT in November 2011, and have stayed here many, many times in the past 5-8 years. I finally stopped visiting here because of the abundance of noisy children and the worn-out facility. A colleague urged me to give it a try again, and I am glad I did. It has been completely upgraded and updated and now is probably my favorite hotel in the region.
The rooms have been nicely upgraded with better furniture and nicer decorations. The lighting is pleasnt, the new flat screen TVs work VERY well with fast channel-changes; the internet access is wireless, fast and free. You won't have any complaints in the rooms.
The lobby is bright, cheerful and fresh. The dining area retained the same form-factor, but has been upgraded with better tables, more comfortable chairs, a very convenient "breakfast bar" where singles can sit and join each other for breakfast. There's even electricity at the bar so you can run your laptop if you desire.
The staff at this hotel is exceptional. They are unfailingly polite, helpful and well-trained.
Last night I met ESPN super-star Jim Rice in the lobby. That was fun, too!
