I have stayed here many times in the past 10 years due to the fact that my company has an office just 5 minutes away in Trumbull.

First off all, I have never had a bad experience with the staff in this hotel. They are always willing to help. The food in the restaurant is always good and again, never had a reason to complain..

I do have a few issues mind you.. First of all, the AC in the rooms cannot be turned off at all. If you set them to off, they still come on to keep the room at the temperature that you have set.

They need more lifts. More then once I have waited for more then 10 minutes to a lift to arrive and there are no stairs down to the lobby. All of the stairs lead out to the back`side of the hotel and you really don't want to be going outside to get to the lobby when its -20 outside..

The last issue is the showers in the rooms. The shower head is fixed and cannot be adjusted for height. I am only 5 foot 7 but I have to crouch down a little bit to get under the shower head..

My biggest complaint with the Courtyard brand is that the properties are inconsistent. One property will be very nice, the next, in need of a major renovation. Also, some will offer bare bone services, others will feel like a full blown Marriott.

This Courtyard feels more like the full blown Marriott. It has a restaurant, room service, conference rooms, etc. Make no mistake, this isn't a JW or hip Marriott property. But for people looking for a little more polish than a standard Courtyard, this is a place worth a look.

Couple of complaints, the shower heads are low flow (and I mean low). Parking lot isn't the greatest (not a big deal). And the TV has a limited number of stations.

But otherwise, it fits the bill.

My wife and I along with our teenage twins spent 3 nights. Good Clean Comfortable Rooms.

I stayed for one night - arriving past 10pm and leaving prior to 8am. I encountered three staff people - all were very courteous and helpful. The location is convenient to the Merritt and Route 8.

The room itself could use updates. The bathroom vent was not functional and the shower head was very low. I'm only 5'8" and it was at my neck. The carpet was frayed in several locations and the furnishings were worn. As for the night's sleep, the heating was quite loud and the mattress was not very comfortable.

Overall with some refurbishing it could be a great Courtyard again. I would recommend for short stays.
