What a pleasant stay we experienced on New Years eve... it was just what we were hoping it would be... peaceful...( I know, not your usual desire for New Years Eve..).. however we wanted to relax, finally, after a busy holiday week and we most certainly did.
The Old Riverton Inn is oh yes, old... filled with antiques, uneven floors, situated in a setting that reminds one of the olden days with the River close by, the old Hitchcock Factory right across the bridge...( sadly it has closed).
The Innkeepers were wonderful and welcoming and made us feel right at home.
The food, the service were fantastic... I mean it... and what a treat for us given we are used to less than attentive service while dining in our hometown area.
The Inn settled down after the last dinner seating was done... quiet, peaceful night, comfy bed., warm quilts, soft pillows.. heaven !!
Next morning we walked downstairs to a full breakfast, again, delicious and the owner gave us some town history and renditions of the good old days, the heydays, in Riverton.
Alas !! We forgot to pack our extra pillows... no problem... I called the Inn and they left them packed in plastic bags for our return trip to retrieve them... and we got to experience another snowy, country drive back there.
Thank you for a perfect overnight !!
