“Bad”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2011

I have stayed in this hotel in years past and while not great, it was OK. That is no longer true. My room was dirty, the mattress was dirty, the bathroom had paint peeling off the wall. The room smelled badly (smoke?). There was no screen on the window. Refrig was unplugged and had leaked on the rug. I had asked for a wake-up call. It never happened. Breakfast was minimal. I had to ask for butter. Next time I will spend the extra $25 and stay in a better hotel.

“Sorry that I will have to give it a failing grade”

Voted by my family members as the worst hotel stay during this entire trip. Even though the manager has done her best to correct a reservation / system error, we cannot say we enjoy the stay. The smell of smoke is everywhere, and the floor / carpet look and fell dirty. The air conditioning unit is noisy but does not really provide much cool and fresh air. The odour in the bathroom smells like someone has urinated in it floor - and has not been cleaned for ages. Everything looks old and tired. The breakfast is average, but none of my family members want to stay and eat there. After this experience, I was told by my family not to patronize any Econo Lodge brand of hotel any more.

“Inexpensive but not so great”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 July 2011

Good location and nice staff but shabby rooms. Came back on the second day of our stay and found that housekeeping had left our door ajar. When we returned to the area we stayed at the much nicer nearby Comfort Suites.

“Poorly maintained”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 July 2011

No batteries in the smoke detector, missing lightbulbs, stained lamp-shades and walls... This hotel is very poorly maintained.

“Not Recommended”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 August 2010

We stayed at the Econo Lodge because we were attending a wedding nearby. The location to the reception was wonderful. Unfortunately that is about the only good thing I can add for this hotel. Having stayed at many hotels both good and bad, I must add that you usually get what you pay for. In this case the hotel is so cheap that you can’t possibly expect service much above what we received….so I’m not totally shooting it down. I just want to explain for travelers that this hotel operates on the barest accommodation level they possibly can and is probably closer to a 1 star then the advertised 2.

The walls, doors, and pretty much anything in the common areas and rooms is in need of a severe cleaning and painting. There were spider webs and a slight odor in our first floor non-smoking queen room. One good thing is that is seems like they just recently put down new carpet because that was not too bad. The sheets were clean overall and appeared to be in reasonable shape though the comforter was disgusting. The towels were not in good shape and were the thinnest I have ever experienced. The bathroom was barely acceptable to take showers in. I did find 2 bugs….. Also the walls are paper thin and the mattress was old. We luckily brought our own pillows because the one’s provided were really thin. Common hallways were not air-conditioned even though it was 90 degrees outside.

On a positive note, the staff was nice enough and were more than willing to help one of our family members switch rooms when their AC was not working. It is very close to the highway which was nice. Overall I would not recommend this hotel….but if you want to save some money and don’t care about total cleanliness or the quality of the accommodations, then this may work because it is not the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! It’s just not the kind of place I would subject us to again even at ½ the cost of other hotels in the area. We needed to air out our suitcases when we got home and were really happy to have only stayed there 1 night.
