My fiancee and I needed an impromptu weekend away and this place was just what the doctor ordered. She had been to a few B&B's, but I had not. So I deferred to her expertise. We chose an area of New England that doesn't necessarily scream tourist spot to us Bostonians, but we were pleasantly surprised by the proximity of this place to several pleasant waterfront village shopping and eating areas (Mystic & Stonington Harbor CT and Westerly & Watch Hill RI. The hostess/innkeeper, Linda, was very delightful and cheery. If you were in a bad mood, her personality would quickly turn that frown upside down.
Even though we're both in our early to mid 30's, we didn't find the abundant movie props, memorbilia and pictures from the 30's, 40's & 50's overwhelming. But I definitely think people that are 50+ would appreciate it even more! You are within 15 minutes of all the most important attractionsand yet far enough away to feel at peace. The price is right when you consider the hotels and activity centers right near by that can be easily double what we paid. Plus you're not gonna get fresh homemade spice cake or full breakfast made from scratch included in the price at MGM Grand @ Foxwoods! Linda was also very knowledgeable about the hidden gems that are within a short distance of the Inn. She puts hotel conceirges to shame.
To sum it up, she made it feel like you were staying at a long lost Aunt's house it was that comfortable! My first B&B experience was definitely an enjoyable one.
