The Old Mystic Inn, in Mystic CT was a true step back in time with the inn's decor and furnishings. Replicas of the 1700-1800's like Hitchcock chairs in the dining room, louvered windows, working fireplaces, and wide board floors made us feel like we had stepped into an Early American Inn.
We stayed in the Carriage House which is a new structure with a colonial feel including a canopy bed.
Michael Cardillo is the owner and also the chef who certainly knows his business. Our breakfast meals were pleasing to view and extremely delicious. Michael served pumpkin pancakes our first morning and luscious omelets and popovers the following morning.
He and his staff are friendly and accommodating. My husband and I will make the trip again.
