“Excellent Comfort & Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

My wife & I were at the Old Mystic Inn for two nights, staying in the Louisa May Alcott room, and we can't fault it! The room (in the Carriage House section) was comfortable & quiet, and the breakfasts that Michael (our host and owner of the place) made were fantastic. We stayed on the recommendation of my Sister & Mother, who had stayed there a year or so previously, and we can see why they recommended it. We hope to get back sometime, as there is still a lot of Connecticut to be explored - thanks again Michael for making our brief stay so enjoyable!

Room Tip: All good - some rooms in main house have whirlpool batfs

“A nice place to stay”

The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are well kept, and the breakfast was exceptional. The owner has professional chef credentials, and the food showed it in taste and presentation.

The owner gave great local info so that our time spent out of the hotel was entertaining, and a little off the beaten track. Others have already mentioned the main house has baked goods available in the evening--cakes or cookies. The gazebo was a nice place to enjoy the grounds.

We stayed in the carriage house, which is a little further off the road than the main house. If you're going to Mystic, this inn is a good bet.

“Charming vintage B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

I'm so thrilled to see all the positive reviews the OMI has received! I was here recently and absolutely loved it. A friend and I spent a weekend in the Nathaniel Hawthorne room (each is named after a famous New England author & features copies of their most notable works) and enjoyed every single minute of it. The rooms were clean and comfortable, as well as undeniably unique -- our room even had its own fireplace. The staff was personable and friendly throughout our entire stay. They were helpful and informative as to what to see and do in downtown Mystic. Fortunately, town was only a short drive away and was extremely convenient. I have no complaints and hope to be back soon! Our room was featured in a video that I found advertising the Old Mystic Inn. If you want to see it for yourself, copy and paste the following link into your browser, I highly recommend it! http://mysticshops.tv/old-mystic-inn/

Room Tip: All are individual and unique, you can't go wrong!

“"We'll definitely be back, again, again ..."”

Michael and his staff were absolutely amazing. The Inn is as I always pictured an Inn to be, and MORE. GOURMET, GOURMET, GOURMET, there is no other word to describe our elegant breakfasts every morning. Not only is Michael an amazing chef, his hosting skills are over the top. His suggestions for things to do, places to see, restaurants to dine were right on. He certainly knows his town and loves to share it with you. The Inn is just a short distance from town, very quiet, and pristene. Michael can go my gardening any time. We stayed in the Louisa May Alcott room in the Cottage and it was stunning. The decor was to the period, very spacious and not a spec of dust to be found. After a long day of sightseeing in and around Mystic, we could relax in our own beautifully decorated study/living area. AMAZING!!! We had access to the house whenever we wanted for snacks, ice, TV watching (a no, no on our vacation!), local brochures, homemade snacks and beverages. What more could you ask for. We will return again, again, and again. Michael, count on our return visit, even if just for a long weekend. The Old Mystic Inn, in Old Mystic is a MUST stay for anyone visiting the area. Michael, thank you a million times over. You have made two Pennsylvania's very, very, happy people.
