“Decent for Short Stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

Stayed at the Holiday Inn for one night for a quick getaway to Mohegan Sun. The hotel is located just off the highway and about 3 miles from the casino. There is a reliable scheduled shuttle that runs about twice per hour and you must sign up in advance.

The rooms are spacious. Very comfortable beds and nice flat screen TV. Bathroom was OK, though a little grungy. Could have been cleaner. Musty smell and some discarded food in the hallway, but wasn't a problem in the room.

Had breakfast in the hotel restaurant. Prices were fair and service was decent. Not the best food. Greasy potatoes and weak coffee.

“Great Place For a Ships Reunion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

I was tasked to do a site visit for my ships reunion in the fall of this year upon checking in i was greeted by a very friendly staff member at the front desk, after i got settled in a very clean and pleasant room on the 5 th floor. i walked around the facility and was very impressed of the way the facility is maintained it is not dirty it has unergone renovation and the loddy is very pleasant and clean. Upon a short briefing by the sales manager who was very pleasant and helpfull she asked me do i need anything else. i met with her at dinner time for food sampling of meals that are normaly served for a banquet and buffet the food was excellent the breakfast was very well prepared and the wait staff was very pleasant
the bar is very nice the pool area is closed due to renvoations with the upcoming change to ADA regulations the pool must be brought up to code and that is on going also the entire facility will undergo a major renovation this is a great hotel.

Room Tip: 5 floor back very quiet

“"Great Location to the Casinos"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2011

The hotel had a great check-in person who was friendly and efficient. They give you complimentary bottled water which I appreciated. The room was very plain but clean carpets and bathroom. The beds were very comfy and I had a great nights sleep. They are located right off Rte. 395 exit 80. This is one exit to Mohegan Sun and 20 minutes to Foxwoods. They have a shuttle that runs on the half hour which makes it very convenient. I would definitely stay here again!!!

“Great Hotel and Great Sports Bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 November 2011

Stayed here for a concert that I was attending at Mohegan sun. Was great that the hotel provides a shuttle to and from the casino. Very organized. The overall atmopshere of the hotel was great. Room was great and the balcony was not expected but was awesome. The sports bar within the hotel was awesome. We utilized all they had the dart boards the pool table and most definetly the juke box. After we got back from the show at Mohegan the bar was still open and had Karaoke going on .. that was a blast. I reccomend this place to anyone that plans on going to Mohegan. Confident and staff was friendly!!

Room Tip: Be sure to hit the sports bar. Great food and friendly staff!! Doesn't get better!

“It was just ok.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 October 2011

I stayed here the night of Oct 15th for a show at Foxwoods with 2 friends. We arrived early (I forgot about the 3PM check in) and were asked to come back later, which was not a problem. What I did see as a problem was one of the staff was rude to 2 different customers that were ahead of me. She just seemed annoyed that they were asking questions.

When we returned later and received our keys, we headed to the second floor and as soon as we stepped off the elevator, I could smell stale smoke which is not a good start, especially for people who have allergies to the smoke.

We entered the room and thankfully it did not smell and was clean.

We did find the room darkening shades that seem to allude people. I would think after so many complaints, these would be replaced with regular room darkening curtains.

Upon entering the bathroom, we discovered no towels. Thankfully, a staff member was still cleaning a room so we were able to ask her for towels. We received them about an hour later. I do wonder about the "detail inspection" that the manager keeps talking in their responses to those complaining about dirty rooms. A bathroom completely missing towels is not hard to see.

The night was fine until morning when I awoke to my bed shaking. I don't know what it was coming from, but it went for a good hour. Our window overlooked a lot of vents so I will guess there was some kind of motor running or possibly the heat for the building. All I know is that I woke from a dead sleep and couldn't get back to sleep.

Breakfast was good but service was slow. Check out was quick and staff was nice.

Thankfully, I didn't have to pay cash for this room. I was lucky enough to have extra points to use.
