I had a chance to stay at the Homestead, in Norwalk.
Yes I said, Norwalk.
Stamford is about 20-30 mins away.
I hate, when they use a cities name and not be, about 5 to 10 mins away.
Now for the hotel review.
Great location off the parkway (Rte 15). You do have to look closely at the hidden drive or at the top of the hill (rocky high ground) where the hotel rests.
Check-in was good. The trip to the room was not so much. The halls smelled of smoke, on a non-smoking floor. I dreaded what the room was going to smell like. But to my surprise the room was clean and fresh as a daisy.
I got a nicely appointed room with a pull out sofa, King size bed, nice location for the Fridge, stove and microwave. Bath area a little cramped with an ample sized closet. Wi-fi costs extra (Grrr), but there is a decent amount of living space with a coffee table and work desk.
So, I got a got some sleep and headed out early. Such a short stay, so the rest of the amenities were left un-used.
They were having a great weekend sale for most rooms, too.
Good deal, depending on how you want to feel about, your room size and location choices.
Would stay again, if it was really closer to Stamford.
Room Tip: King Suite (most expensive)
Queen or Dbls (best value)
