I wish I read the reviews before wasting my money. This place shouldn't even be open it looks like a murder scene in a horror movie! The room smelled, there were gun holes in the ceiling and the cabinets were broken in the bathroom. This place was so bad that after the wedding we went to, we decided to drive the hour and half home instead of stay in this dump! Do not stay here!

Arrived New Year's Eve to our "room". Room had old musty smell. No heat, no electricity. We ask for another room, the guy at the counter says they are full. He brings in a space heater and fixes the circuit breaker for the space heater to work. The outlets for the lamps were 3/4 of the way up the wall, so none of the lamps could be plugged in.
Tried to take a shower, but shower head was broken and was spraying water up instead of down. No room to set products on the sink to get ready. The next day, we left our room at noon and left the blinds open so they would see that we were gone and clean our room. Came back at 11:30 p.m., room was not cleaned. I told the guy at the counter, and he said the maid came by at 2:00, but she thought we were still sleeping, so she left. I said we left the blinds open for that exact reason-- so she could see we were gone. He then just shook his head. I had to ask for clean towels and sheets. He obviously didn't care.

They are getting away with running a dive! We paid $148 for two nights there, and they had us because it was New Year's Eve and there was nowhere else to go. It's as if this motel has been neglected for the last 25 years, not even so much as providing heat, a working shower head, or maid service! Of course the bed was awful, but that was to be expected. It's no wonder this hotel is in the condition it is. No upkeep. Junk sitting everywhere outside too. Can't believe they are getting away with it!

Office was nasty, clutter everywhere, tires, batteries, trash. The room was right next door to the office on first floor, the minute you walked in over come with a nasty odor and stench of I don't know what. But being 3:30 in the morning and tried every motel in groton, new london, the area. with every being full, and needing sleep after driving 6 hours. The shower worked, hot water, didn't have any odor, none of the lights had outlets to plug into although there were lights in the room, and a curtain covering a big hole in the back wall.. paid $90 to stay for 6 hours.. couldn't wait to get outta that place, definatly sketch and something out of a horror film

I stayed here and did not have the same problems as the other people. It was by far not the nicest room I've ever stayed in, but not the worst either. The furniture is outdated, and you get some noise from the highway, but it's a Budget Inn, not a Hilton.
I only paid about $60 per night for my room. Considering the proximity to Foxwoods, that's the cheapest you're going to find in that area in the summer.

The reason I am posting this is that we had some rather odd experiences in our room (the boyfriend and I). We didn't compare notes until after we checked out but I'm left with the impression (and this has never happened before) that the particular room we were in may have been haunted... maybe we're not alone in having a weird experience there?


There is noise from the I-95, but the hotel is situated right next to it, you kind of have to expect it. Every hotel I've ever stayed in next to a highway had the same problem.
I was happy to find a microwave & fridge in the room, and when I stayed there, they were clean. As was the bathroom, which had been redone. The only problem that we had was a broken lamp. I called the front desk, and they sent someone up who fixed it, no problem. No big deal for us.
