We stayed at the La Quinta this past weekend for an overnight trip to New Haven for a hockey game and visit to the Peabody Museum. The hotel staff was quite friendly and helpful, first when I called to confirm the reservation and room type, and later when I needed bedding brought to the room.
There was a bit of delay checking in, though. There was only one person at the desk and a line of people checking in at 9:30 at night.
The room was clean enough, and there were 3 beds (2 doubles and a sofa bed), so that suited our family's needs. The beds were comfortable. We couldn't figure out how to turn the heat on, though. We could have called the front desk, but we didn't mind a cool room.
Breakfast was plentiful if a bit low-end. There was a good variety of low-quality foods. However, there was a waffle maker, which is always a hit with my family.
In terms of noise, it was a bit weird. Walking down the hall, I could hear the yapping of a small dog in a room two doors down, but when I was in our room, I couldn't hear the dog, but I could hear the tv on in the room across the hall from us. However, we weren't disturbed by it. The room faced the highway, but we didn't really hear any highway noise.
I really didn't have any complaints. It was exactly what you get for the price, which was $89 a night. Nothing special, but nothing appalling.
