Our stay at The Maples Inn did not meet our expectations. Upon our arrival we had to locate the front desk clerk - behind a dutch door, seated at a computer some 6 feet away..not terribly welcoming was my first thought! After signing in, I asked where the nearest florist might be and the reply was, "I don't know, I don't live here" and that was that. We found our room (#204) on the second floor somewhat tired loooking with mis-matched bed linens (pillow case & flat sheet) nice touch - not impressed with that. In the bathroom no place to set down a comestic bag just a small useless cabinet on the wall. The inn was nearly empty which made it quiet - a plus. Breakfast was adequate but again no staff about. Bed uncomfortable. Not worth the money they were charging but I guess not alot of competition in New Canaan .
