“Nearly excellent! But no breakfast.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 December 2011

We found this by chance as it was just off the Interstate we were on. Front staff (young Ukrainian man) was polite and helpful. We got a King room with fridge and microwave and coffee making facilities. So all good there! The bed was so comfortable I slept in and the pillows were lovely. Congratulations to them for good presentation and cleanliness.

It was good value and would have been an excellent place to stay except there was no breakfast. Now normally this isn't a deal breaker but there was no explanation until I went back and asked - turned out that their 'truck' hadn't delivered breakfast. We were left with the impression that, as we appeared to be only one of maybe 2 or at most 3 people in the whole place, it just wasn't worth putting on breakfast for. Now I admit that I could be wrong but a truck delivering breakfast?

If this was in fact the truth I would have expected my staff to be proactive and seek out alternatives. There is a massive supermarket just down the road for bagels/ danishes or at worst a loaf of bread and milk. I don't believe that there was absolutely no cereal available at all so milk and toast would have been sufficient.

So apart from this little glitch - a good hotel.

“This modest motel has much to offer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2011

Although this is a two star hotel, it still merits a "Very Good" rating for several reasons. First, the rooms are impeccably clean and the furnishings seemed fairly updated. Though a bit on the small size, good use of space is made. Mattresses are very comfortable as are the pillows -- and there are FOUR on each bed; how nice! Lamps were nicely situated for reading and a microwave and fridge are included in the room as well. The shower was great and had an adjustable showerhead to regulate the pressure. Toiletries were just okay, but this is a 2 star lodging after all. We were pleasantly surpised at the quality of the continental breakfast: name brand cereals were offered, cups of batter to make fresh waffles, two kinds of fresh fruit. The coffee was great too. We were at the Days Inn because of an extended power outage in our town and appreciated the laundromat that was adjacent to the hotel. For those that come in the summer, there appears to be a rather nice outdoor pool. Note that there is both free wifi and a desktop computer for guest use in the lobby. Worth a visit and the offseason rates make your stay extremely affordable.

“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

Stayed at Days Inn in mid-September with a golf group. Not a bad property and very close to restaurants, casinos and golf courses. Hotel is a little run-down and in need of some refurbishment. The area (Mystic) warrants that and the hotel would likely do better if they were to put in the money to spruce it up a little. We got a very good price, as we prebooked and paid. So, for what we paid it was worth it.

“All these bad ratings I don't believe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We just came back from staying overnight at the Days Inn in Mystic. I don't know where these bad pictures are coming from, or if the damage photographed were done by the people who stayed at this place themselves, but for the price, the rooms were quite nice. Is there a crack here and there in the bathroom? Yes there is but not to the extent of what I am reading here. When I saw the negative reviews, I was stunned and went over our room with a fine toothed comb. First and most importantly there were NO bed bugs. It was perfectly clean and a good amount of nice amenities that most hotels of their class overlook quite often. I am a very light sleeper. I wake up at least 3-4 times a night at home but this was such a restful sleep. They had plenty of pillows to lay on or prop up to watch TV. I never once saw leaks, dirt or molding. This is NOT, let me repeat, NOT a 4 star luxury hotel. This is an economy hotel and for what it is worth, it was pleasantly nice for the price we got it for. We had a king smoking room, with tax, $ 69.00 a night. They had a small coffee maker with coffee and everythng that goes with it, a hair dryer, microwave, mini frig, iron, ironing board, clean towels, complimentary shampoo and lotion. Those are the things I know off the top of my head. It also had a small sofa in it. The air conditioning was cool for those who are like me and hate the heat. Seriously? I think some went overboard with the negative ratings. If you are looking to save money in a clean and pleasant hotel, Days Inn is quite nice. That is just my personal opinion.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to ask for a room with a microwave and fridge. They also accomodate smoking room...
