“Reveiw of Harbor Inn & cottage”

We just finished a stay at the Harbor Inn Bed & Breakfast and were very pleased at all the Inn had to offer. It was quiet, cozy, romantic, pleasant, the room was clean and a great deal for the money. The location was perfect for us as we came by train and it was very close to the Amtrak station as well as being right on the water and close enough to the town of Mystic to allow for quick walks to many local sites and restaurants that Claude, the host, was very helpful with his tips about this charming New England town. We couldn't see what the negative reviews about this place were referring to because we didn't see, smell or hear any problems. The train didn't even wake us up. The charm in this place for us was all in the decor, woodburning fireplace and our room. We had the chief engineer's room and it felt just like being on a ship without the rocking of the sea and a huge TV that balanced old world charm with modern convenience. There was also a huge hot tub outside that looked very inviting and a gazeebo that made a great picnic spot for us. Overall we would definitely recommend this place and plan to go back.

Room Tip: choose the chief engineer room if you're a couple and the cottage if you're a family.

“Absolutely Wonderful”

I dont even know where to start. From the moment we arrived innkeeper Claude was wonderful. My boyfriend and I arrived 3 hours later than we should and he was up waiting for us. He gave us a tour and took the time to go over the map with us to show us where everything was. He even went outside to show us how to use the hot tub and heated up for us if we wanted to go in. Did I mention that we had three dogs, Pitbull, a Rotti mix and a mini poodle. He was so nice he said to us " If I knew you had three dogs I would have given you the bigger room" The room we got had a hot tub with a nice heater for us. The cottage was very clean and quiet and he said to treat it like our home. The first day we left our dogs in the room they were a little scared and Claude told us he went to check if they were okay becasue they were whining, what a sweetheart. At nights the fire place was roaring and we sat and chatted with the other guests and their dogs. In the morning there were fresh muffins and coffee and he keep bread and eggs in the fridge. I wanted to cook dinner for my boyfriend one night and I didnt have the right pot. Claude brough his own pots to lend me. We cant wait to go back in the spring when all the rose bushes and the garden is in full bloom. Best price for a quiet get away for pet parents and big dogs are no problem

We were a French couple visiting new England. We stayed in many places but this place is the most wonderful place were we stayed.
A wooden house very warm decorated like a boat. Exactly the kind of house we would like to have. The emplacements could not be better. It is on the harbor but in a quiet place. No house in front, only the harbor and the boats coming in and out. Our host was incredibly welcoming and gave us excellent advise on were to eat and what to see. Different size of rooms exist so you can choose the best solution for you. Price is really interesting. Our room was really clean and comfy. We have only one regret: we discovered the place too late to stay one week. But we will come back!

It was a great place for my little boys and my husband and I. Private hot tub for our cottage and a kitchen to cook was a plus. It was a nice change from staying in a hotel room with a family of 5.

There isn't aChemical plant in the area. The Hot tub on the lawn was great and provided a very relaxing experience for our family. We had a two hour birthday party for our grandpa who just turned 72 years old. Please diregard the last negative review, it is erronious.
