“Bedbug Warnig”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 April 2008

BEDBUG WARNING: If you want to go to a hotel where you feel comfortable and can go to sleep at night and relax, this not the place to go right now. We stayed at this hotel in April 2008 encountered BEDBUGS in our room. Identification of a bug was verified by the CT Agricultural Experiment Station in New Haven. Upon reporting the findings to the Milford CT Health Department, we learned the there have been previous reports of bedbugs in this hotel. Some Internet searching has also revealed that similar date back to August 2007!

Not to suggest that this hotel down for good, but it is past time for them to clean up once and for all. People (adults, children & babies) staying here may unknowingly being bitten and worse, transporting these pests to other hotels or their own home. These pests are difficult to remove once infested – professional treatment is required. All belongings brought into an infested room are in question, and there are precautions that need to be taken to avoid transporting the bugs to another home. For ourselves, we felt the safest option was to discard 90% of our belongings. This is the way we felt the most secure.

This hotel needs to close down for several days and fumigate all their rooms. Please Step Up if you have stayed at this hotel and have encountered these pests. Notify the offices at the numbers provided below to register your complaint. The only way it can be resolved is if all the rooms (not just one room under complaint) are fumigated at the same time in this hotel. Please register your complaint or support to resolve this problem regardless if you have stayed there or not at the following numbers: Milford Health Department [--], Better Business Bureau [--] and Attorney General’s Office [--]. Thank you so much for any support - it will protect innocent travelers and their families that visit this hotel in the future.

“hotel with bedbug and staff worst han bedbug”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 November 2007

here is the red ight for whom thinking to stay at comfort inn in Milford CT, I was thinking to stay for 2 weeks as I was on training at Subway headquarter in Milford CT.

checkinn was OK took 30 minutes to checkinn though we were only 2 people who wanted seperate rooms.

room was ok too many hairs on the batroom floor probably nobody ever bother to clean it,still thought to never mind since assumed the housekeeper are new or do bad job.

the airconditioner was so loud that you get disturb every 2 minutes when it turn on,wake up every minute when airconditioner turned on could not sleep entire night.

but reason I wake up every 2 minutes was not the airconditioner untill i found out that there was something which bited every minute I thougt it was just my feeling of new place.untill early in the morning thought of finding out to my extreme shock there was the bed bug in the room. I was in a situation what to do just put that bedbug in the cup and went to front desk the assistant manager just took the cup from the hand with bed bug and said in a very rude manner "I will
pass it to the manager" se didnot had the any sense of guilty she didnot even apolozise for the worst experiance at there hotel,I was so upset that I am going to checkout today. after few day i got the letter from that you will be charged for 1 night since I had a reservation which was void when i said I am checking out because of bedbug,I called the hotel same assistant manager pick up phone explained the situation said "we going to charge you do what ever you want to do"

I sincerely suggest not to stay at that place you will feel you are treated as criminals not as a guest. you will end up waking up whole night with bit of bed bug think twice before staying

“Here the Bedbugs Bit!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2007

I would give this motel a good review, especially for the price, if I hadn't been devoured by bedbugs in our first room. The room appeared to be clean, the staff was nice, the breakfast was good; but I didn't know how to check for bedbugs until after we stayed there and I researched on the internet. I woke up at 3 AM and "caught" 2 bugs on my forehead. I freaked out and raced to bathroom and flushed them down the toilet. Too bad, as the manager was anything but helpful when I showed her the welts and bites on my arms and face (I counted 75 of them). She asked "Where are they?" when I said I had even caught the bugs and had recognized them from an article in US News a few weeks before. Apparently, I should have had the presence of mind to have saved them for her. The night clerk when I first reported it and showed her my bites had instantly offered us another room and said the manager would call me. She didn't and when I asked to speak to her, she was snippy, and down right rude. We still had to pay. Beware of the Comfort Inn in Milford CT!!!

  • Liked — The staff apart from the manager.
  • Disliked — The bedbugs and the manager's attitude.

“Room fine, typical Comfort Inn, nothing exciting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2007

Went there since the price of hotels around Bridgeport are so high. If you find the Hampton Inn at the same price as this, it would be better, but if you find this at 2/3 thAt price, such as $80 vs $110 and you are not hanging around the hotel during the day, this place is just fine. It is by truck stops, yet isolated but it seems quite safe, near a Stop and Shop and the highway. Actually, I-95 is so close you can see it and get your own traffic report (which could be worth it), but I did not really hear it. No reason NOT to use this hotel as some people say, tho the front desk should be friendlier, I guess, but not a biggie. One day no towels left, but in morning, the maid just gave them to me, so that was nice.

  • Liked — Near Hiway, ok breakfst, better price
  • Disliked — no Internet (phone only); if you need it, don't come here

“Value Price Not Always a Good Thing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2007

One of the cheapest rooms between Fairfield and New Haven. This is an old hotel in a good location. By good, I mean convenient to restaurants, gas, and I95 access, but without the horrendous traffic noise you would experience at the Hampton Inn and others in Milford along I95.

They remodeled the hotel two years ago. The rooms are up to date but not as clean as they could be. As others have written, they must pay the desk clerks minimum wage as I too had a checkin problem. Beware of their 4:30 cancellation policy. A few months ago,I did not know until right before 6 pm that I would not be able to make it there that night, but I had to pay for the room anyway.
