I would rather sleep naked in the woods than every spend money at this motel again. After the hurricane, we were without power for several days. I decided to spend one night at a local motel so that we could charge up electronics/phones, and I could get some work completed online. This was the only local motel with an available room and free wifi. Here are a few highlights of my stay:

- It was dirty. From the linens to blankets to floor, under the bed was a real treat too. There were dust webs in the corners on the ceilings and on the lampshades.
- The floor was damp throughout the room. You couldn't walk barefoot or even in socks.
- There was a bad odor - I'm thinking mold.
- After only 1 night, my child had a headache.
- There is a lot of screaming and yelling outside amongst the local trash that apparently makes this motel their home.
- The air conditioner was dirty and burned our eyes. Unfortunately, this was the only way to drown out the noise of screaming, drunk/high neighbors, so we suffered through it.
- The bathroom looked clean on the surface, but there was evidence of black mold, even under their attempt to cover it up. The shower head was separating from the wall and there was no water pressure.
- There were stains on the chairs and little couch in the room. I don't even want to think about what from...
-The furniture was taped together with scotch tape.
-Apparently "free HBO" also means "free porn." This is always nice to learn when your 8 year old is flipping channels searching for cartoons.

Bottom line - we did not feel safe. I felt like the goings on outside were scary, but I was also afraid to turn off the lights inside the room, because I wanted to be able to see any bugs that decided to show themselves. I came home to a house with no power and opted to take a cold shower to cleanse myself of the experience at this motel.

Had to book a room last minute, and wish I had read the reviews here first. Place smelled terrible, some sort of air-freshener that overpowered the room. Normally I don't mind if furniture is a little old, but the chairs had disgusting stains on them. I did a lot of work on my computer, but did not sit on the chairs. Not sure when the bathroom was last deep-cleaned, because it was a mess as well. I didn't have time to switch to another hotel, so I just crossed my fingers and hoped that at least the sheets would be clean. The people who operate this place speak another language, which would be fine, but please use English when you're talking about my room while I stand there waiting for you to be done. Also, the deadbolt on the door has been disabled, which made me a bit nervous (as I was on the first floor), so I piled the chairs in front of the door. There is no reason I should have to do this. At least put a chain up! Especially since on the way in, I was following a car who had had their rear windshield completely bashed in! All in all, I will never stay here again and don't recommend it to anyone. Yea, it was cheap, but I would rather have paid more and actually felt safe and clean while sleeping.

Wesley Inn & Suites in Middletown,Ct. The room was filthy,the bathroom had used soap & shampoo in it.Graffitti on doors and walls. Tv did not work & I called front desk & they came and fixed it but were mad about it. Electrical outlets in bathroom were broken and only one light in room worked. could smell mold in room. cigarette burn holes all over bedspread. Asked for another room but told none were available.

My girlfriend and I have stayed at this hotel several times and each time have loved it. Compared to the other area hotel (the Inn at Middletown), it is not luxurious, but for the price it's great and very close to Wesleyan University. The rooms are large and come with a TV, a refrigerator, hairdryer, etc., and the beds are HUGE and have feather toppers. You even get free Wifi, something some franchise hotels don't even offer. Other reviews say that the area is unsafe and the rooms are dirty, this is simply not the experience we've had. Definitely recommended for parents or visitors to Wesleyan University or Middletown.
