Stopped here on our way from Maryland to Vermont for Thanksgiving.

The room - a no smoking king was very nice. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom clean and well supplied. The best part however, was Samantha at the front desk. Showed us where to find food and beer in town and even gave us a 10% off coupon!

My 17 year old son and I booked this hotel for a sleepover from North Carolina to Maine. The price was great for what we wanted: a bed. Check-in was flawless with their friendly front desk clerk. Upon entering the room, one notices a musty smell. The room was very clean, but it appears that it may be suffering from mold. The furnishings were nice – standard for a three-star hotel. In the morning, we passed on the small offerings for their continental breakfast. Like many residents of Meriden, we opted for the Dunkin’ Donuts right next door, where we got some good coffee and fresh doughnuts. If you are looking for an inexpensive stopover that is near ESPN and Hartford, come here. If you are expecting more than that, I recommend that you find another hotel. This is not one of the better Choice Hotels.

We booked 22 rooms for a group here last week. We were looking for an affordable hotel about half-way between New York and Boston that could accommodate a group. At $76 per double room including breakfast, right next to the highway exit, this clean and efficiently-run hotel fit the bill perfectly. Our reservation was handled efficiently and with no surprises -- from initial contact by phone through check-in and check-out.. The accommodating manager "Mac" was waiting to greet us when we arrived at 9pm, opened the breakfast room for us when we asked without any advance notice for a place to meet as a group for a few minutes, showed our bus driver where to park, and was very helpful throughout our short stay. Rooms were faux-posh in the new Comfort Inn style, beds were comfortable, and the whole hotel felt very clean. Nice bathroom with curved shower curtain. Free wireless internet. Complimentary continental breakfast was standard Comfort Inn (bread to toast, waffle maker, whole fruit, hard-boiled eggs, cereal, juice, coffee, etc.) with staff keeping it stocked. This is not a quaint or unique hotel, but it met our needs perfectly; the whole group was very happy with the stay and I would book us here again without question.

I had a very brief overnight stay at the Comfort Inn in Meriden, CT and found the accomodations to be more than acceptable. The room was generous and the bed was as comfortable as a Marriott bed. A new LCD TV was well positioned on the wall and there was a comfortable lounge chair and desk area. The only negatives in the room were a smallish sink in the bathroom and curtains that did not close tightly (I'm being nitpicky). The lobby and common area was clean but the bathroom near the breakfast area was dark and smelled foul. The service was adequate (upon arrival, I was given the wrong room key and a lady answered, obviously annoyed). The breakfast was servicable but unexceptionable but for the price I paid, I would stay again given a comfortable room and an excellent bed.
