I arrived there at 7:30 at night Rm 124, a suite ( $185.00 a night ) On the way into the room the hall was missing ceiling tiles. and my wife saw a spider, ok not a big deal, BUT The room itself smelled real bad ( a cross between mold and a pine tree car air freshener ) you could actually taste it in the air . The lighting was poor,,,, to hide the condition of the room ??? The carpet was so stained that the stains overlapped! The walls were freshly gouged up, Not just knocked But through the wall paper , through the sheet rock paper and to the "rock" (the dusty part of sheet rock) and the stains... well ... looked like blood and "Organic Matter" to put it nicely. I told the front desk and asked for another room. The person I talked to was not the one checking people in but a casually dressed tall man with an accent . He was rude and acted like I was the problem, They said they were all sold out. I was not shocked ( 1/2 of Ct. was out of power due to a storm 5 days before ) they said they would reduce the rate to $119.00, woop-de-do. I would not have stayed there if it was free !!!! the thought of the free breakfast made me shutter . STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL !!! Found a room on Rt.66 east of there , America's Best Value Inn , Not the fanciest room BUT CLEAN ! and $70.00 a night. I stayed at the Comfort Inn at Meriden CT. the night before and it was a clean room with help full polite staff .
