“if you need a place to sleep, it's fine - nothing more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 May 2011

We were attending an event in the area and needed a place to stay. The prices are reasonable. There's plenty of parking. The rooms are big. There's hot water. The staff were friendly. All in all, it's a perfectly acceptable place to stay. As long as you don't expect luxury or charm, you won't be disappointed. Our suite had a living room with rollout coachbed and kitchen, and a separate bedroom. It's all a bit dated (the TV has a video - yes, VHS! - player attached). We never used the kitchen but it's well appointed. I also never used the hotel gym, which had plenty of exercise machines. There's a diner and a steakhouse across the street so you are not totally isolated, even if the hotel is on one of those soulless stretches of America exurbia right off an interstate. All in all, you're probably here because you're attending an event in the area and aren't going to be spending much time at the hotel and all you need is a comfortable bed and a shower. It's perfectly fine for that.

“I wouldn't stay there either if they pay me”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 March 2011

first when you arrive at night you are faced with a locked door and a phone to call the front desk. the front desk will peek through the window and ask you series of questions and request to see your ID from the glass before she let you in. No smile no greetings nothing. she will hand you the key and you are on your way. She doesn’t even offer you direction to the elevator unless you ask. As a platinum member, I have stayed in over 30 different hotels this year and this is the worst. Rooms are filthy and the bathroom door doesn’t close

So after complaining to the manager I received an email that looked like it can apply to any situation. very generic and cold. The manager did great me on my way out and i told him i will not return to his hotel and he said "it’s up to you"

here is the problem, hotel people should have training in HRM and looks like the people at this hotel are a good example of what not to do.
PS. I moved to Holliday Inn express in North Haven and its a world of a difrence.

“Good Enough, Nothing Special”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2011

The night manager was excellent, friendly and accomodating. Lots of smokers hanging out at the entrance which made for unpleasant entry into the building. Silverware was spotty, the mattress on the bed is on the verge of needing to be replaced and the tv was 13 inches small-very surprising! The desk and chairs were comfortable. Got to check out Huxley's Bookmark Cafe, east on E. Main St--lovely live pianist while eating good food with friendly service. The American Steak joint across the street was barely so-so- really a disappointment in the beef department but the buffet bar with salad was good.
Lots of noise on the facade of the building facing the street. Lots of men walking around in robes and pj's which I found odd. I probably wouldn't stay again but if you had to for one or two nights it is tolerable and at $69 per night, Remember that PETS are welcomed, good for some, not so good for those of us who have pet allergies.

“Very comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2010

I just spent one night, but this would be a very comfortable place to be for an extended stay. It is a mini-suite with a kitchen, so you can prepare your own food. It was comfortable and roomy and the staff was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely stay here again the next time I'm in this area.

I checked into this hotel property June 2, 2010 for 3 nights and had an excellent experience. The front desk person named Craig was top notch. Quick, courteous check in and he assured my every need was taken care of immediately. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the kitchen was an nice feature. I would recommend this hotel to anyone !
