“No sleep due to creaking noise.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012 via mobile

There is some weird creaking noise that happens near the ceiling by the door of these rooms; like a house settling or something, or like water dripping. With or without the room fan on. It happens every few seconds or so and is really annoying when you're trying to fall asleep. This is in more than one room. A hotel's primary job is pretty simple: let your guests sleep. If you can't do that, you don't deserve anyone's business.

“Ideal if you want to step back to the 1990s' oh the memories!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

The Lobby has been refurbished, but the rooms are in bad need of modernisation, for the price you really expect more than a shower curtain and a box TV. The rooms are clean an its an ideal downown location five minutes from main street. The best feature of the hotel is the american style Diner beside the lobby and the standard and varity of breakfast is excellent including fruit, pancakes, fries etc and great value. The hotel bar is neat (small) but cosy but the rooms let the whole place down.

“Average all around, older property, parking tight”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I also travel frequently for business and this is your run-of-the-mill standard business hotel. You can see the age of the property in the lobby, rooms, etc. Room service food below par.

Don't expect too much and you'll be fine. Location is pretty good as it's walking distance to a good number of decent restaurants on Asylum and off Trumbull.

Parking can be an issue as it's shared with another garage and the spaces are pretty small.

“Worst Hilton I have stayed at”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

people found this review helpful

I travel a lot for business and can usually overlook a few weird things, but this Hilton has so many small things wrong that I won't ever stay here again. Nothing large, but so many small things: alarm clock didn't work; when I called to have the clock repaired, it wasn't done; phone line to guest services didn't work from room phone; toothbrush was left bristle-side down on the bathroom counter; lamps were not plugged in; coffeemaker was hidden away in cabinet, and to plug it in I had to pull it out and put it on the desk; ironing board was semi-broken and tilting to one side. Colleagues complained of water pipes knocking and waking them up at 4am. The lobby is uninviting with little room to sit and wait for someone, much less sit and work. I said to a colleague "It's like an airport hotel, where it can be bad because they have a captive clientele," to which she responded, "no, it's worse." Here's my advice: no matter how much you want the Hilton points, stay at the Marriott!

“Best that I've Found in Hartford”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

I've stayed in a few spots around Hartford and this is my favorite. Everyone was very nice and welcoming during my stay, even while the hotel was booked to capacity. Easy parking. Quiet and comfortable rooms. The value was decent and they had a nice breakfast area, as well as, a 24/7 pantry. I was only there one night but this will certainly be my hotel of choice when I return.
