My young daughter and I attended an evening performance at the Bushnell theater in Hartford on October 29, 2011. We were caught by surprise at the terrible weather conditions from an early snowstorm and did not want to even try to drive 35 miles home.
We booked one of the last rooms available at this hotel. It was also one of the few area hotels with electricity!
Needless to say, the place was packed--stranded travelers, truckers, a soccer team, members of a ballet company, and etc.
The hotel staff handled the flood of guests cheerfully and professionally. One woman at the front desk stayed hours past the end of her shift.
There was even plenty of food for everyone at the complimentary breakfast the next morning.
I understand that this hotel had full occupancy during the entire week of Connecticut's power outage. I'm sure their guests were very well taken care of!!

Dear KopperCT,
Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel on TripAdvisor.com. On behalf of the team at the hotel, thank you for staying with us. Your business is appreciated. I hope you and your daughter enjoyed the show at the Bushnell. The storm was definitely challenging for everyone. We are glad that the hotel was able to take you in. Personally I do not enjoy driving in the snow myself. The staff in the hotel takes grat pride in being professional, friendly, and cheerful. When I shared your comments with them they were excited that you found us that way even at the worst of times. We hope the next time you come and see a show at the Bushnell or the XL center you will decide to stay the night with us again (even if it doesn’t snow).
Sincerely,
Dave Ickowitz
