“Well-staffed and better than average”

We stayed here for New Year's Eve for an overnight getaway, because there is a lot to do in the area. The staff was welcoming and efficient. The hotel's interior was nicely decorated and clean. I guess they already knew I was a Hilton Honors member, because our room had two little bottles of champagne - a lovely surprise. The room was typical for Hamton Inn - clean and in good condition, but not glamorous. There was adequate storage and good lighting. The fridge was larger than usual, and the microwave was brand new. However, the breakfast buffet was the highlight - among the nicest I've seen in these places. There were pre-made little cheese omelets, potatoes, meat, make-your-own waffles, yogurt, fruit, beverages, and the breads and pastries even included croissants. Everything was clean and well-stocked. In many hotels, when a breakfast buffet is included in the price, there is not such variety, even at other Hampton Inns. I commend them for their generosity.

“Groton Hotel”

My husband and I stayed at this Hampton Inn for 2 nights for a trip to a show at the Mohegan sun. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly, especially at breakfast. I guess it is average for a Hampton Inn, but don't want to scare people away with an average rating because I can't really find fault with the hotel.

“Not sure what the 5 star reviews are for.... average Hampton Inn..”

Stayed here for 2 nights during visit to Mystic Seaport, casinos and outlet shopping. This is your average Hampton Inn. PROS: It's clean and the staff was very friendly. The hotel seems older (lots of dings in furniture and general woodwork). Breakfast area was run efficiently. Convenient location and nice alternative from both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun (as they want $400-$500 a night!!) CONS: The door to room allows light from hallway to enter. The automatic temperature setting on air/heating unit sounded like an airplane throughout the night (we figured out for 2nd night to just leave it on all night to avoid noise). We wanted the other Hilton properties in Mystic but they were priced higher than this hotel. In short, this hotel serves its purpose... cheaper than casino rooms, clean and close to attractions.. but it would be a fantastic deal if this place rennovated and got some updates.

“Great hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

My husband & I stayed here in Oct 2011 & I can honestly say it was one of the nicest hotels that we have stayed in. The room was very spacious & clean with fridge & microwave & coffee making facilities. The check in was very quick & efficient & all the staff were very friendly & helpful, as our flight was late from New York we were allowed a later check out which was very helpful to us. I would definitely recommend this hotel & we will come back here again

“WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2011

My husband and I would like to commend the management and staff of this facility! We can honestly say that this was one of the neatest, cleanest and friendliest Inns that we have ever stayed in... and we have been to many, many places in our years of traveling together. The front desk staff, upon check-in and check-out, were friendly and very helpful in accommodating our needs. The cleaning staff goes above and beyond any expectations, they really do exceptional work... we found our room to be just, unbelievable! The beds were neatly made, the bathroom was sparkling and the floors, rug and tile, were spotless. As a bonus to guests, they have a free breakfast buffet that is just delicious... there were a good 20-25 people in the dining room when we arrived, but the food was fresh and well stocked... the staff was very conscientious of the dining area. Also want to mention that they have fresh fruit, coffee, tea and hot chocolate available 24 hours a day as well. Thank you, so much, for a wonderful experience. I would recommend this Inn to all travelers... especially those going to the Mohegan Sun, the Inn is very close and easy to locate... and they also have a very clean pool and workout room as well. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here.

Room Tip: Our room was on the front side and it was quiet, large and just very nice... no complaints!
