“Wish I had a chance to tell you”

Homespun Farm seemed like it was going to be right up our alley. It was near Mystic, golf, casinos, and even a stable! However, I wrote and email to the owners requesting information on a reservation and never heard anything. After a week and a half of waiting I called the toll free number and got someone on the phone. It seemed like she wasn't at the inn and said she would call me back in a few hours. Needless to say I never heard from her.

From everything I have read, it seems like this is a wonderful place and I wish my finace and I were going there for our honeymoon as we had planned. You never know what goes on in peoples lives, especially in a small business, but I would have liked to have heard.....something. Luckily, we found another lovely place right in Mystic.

Wow....I wish I had actually been the one speaking with you! I had surgery during that time frame you spoke of...I have no idea who you may have spoken with, I had several people helping me at the time.

I am sorry no one got back to you. I ALWAYS respond to emails within hours.....but during that time I just was really out of sorts.

I do hope you will try us again, maybe for your anniversary? We would love to show you all we have to offer!!

“Wonderful experience at Homespun Farm”

We had a wonderful and romantic experience at Homespun farm B&B last week. This is a small (2 guest room) B&B where the owners are very friendly, great cooks and quite knowledgeable about the area. They were also very good at allowing us our privacy.

We stayed in the Cherry Room, a 2nd floor suite that was originally used by the current owners. It has an exceptionally comfortable, elevated queen bed with a hand-built overhead frame and drapes. While the décor is early-American, the bath amenities are quite modern (and distinctive), including Kohler plumbing fixture and a glass-block two-person shower. A very enjoyable part of the bathroom was the two-person soaking tub (very deep) and mood lighting. A wide variety of bath oils and bubble bath are also provided. The room faces East and South and gets nice light in the AM (if you open the blinds). Two additional chairs are located in the room - I read some in each and they were very comfy. The television is enclosed in an armoire and appears to be cable (we never turned it on). This room is not handicapped accessible (steep stairs).

The entire B&B was exceptionally clean and well maintained.

The breakfasts were great - fresh Blueberry-stuffed French toast day one and egg casserole with fresh Blueberry muffins day two. Meats were served with both. The breakfasts were huge and carried us into late afternoon.

A very nice surprise was their 24 hour beverage area. It includes chilled or heated bottled water and the single/double automatic espresso machine. A variety of teas and hot coco were there as well.

The grounds are near a highway, but remain peaceful. They have a Koi pond in the rear with comfortable seating for 2 to 4 (I spent some time reading there in the morning as well). They have a nice garden area (include many fruits) with paths for strolling.

Finally, they have several very friendly pets that will come to visit if you leave your door open.

We brought our own candles, some fruit, cheese and wine and made a wonderful romantic retreat of our two-day stay. I highly recommend it for those seeking romance or just wanting a base from-which to experience the area.

“YOU WILL LOVE YOUR STAY HERE”

I stayed here a few summers ago and I had a wonderful time. The house is gorgeous, the rooms are immaculate, the staff is very friendly and breakfast is fabulous. It is a bit of a drive to Mystic -- about 20 minutes but its such a beautiful area, we didn't mind it one bit. I'm sure you won't either. I loved this place. I slept marvelously well -- its quiet and the staff is very considerate of late sleepers. I stayed in the Orchard Room which literally has the best bed I've ever slept in. I awoke every morning eagerly anticipating breakfast which was always a delicious suprise. Stay here -- you will love it and you'll thank me for it. This place is so romantic. The only regret I have is that I didn't stay in the Pear Room, which is even nicer (can it be???!) than the Orchard Room. You will be satisfied, TRUST ME!!!! :-)

My husband and I stayed at Homespun Farm B&B for three nights last week. We could have not asked for or received better hospitality.Kate and Ron are wonderful people. You feel like you are staying with old friends by the end of your first breakfast there.Speaking of breakfast. It's awesome. Ron cooked the first morning and Kate the second two. Both were great. The French toast and blueberry muffins are to die for.If you like animals, this is the place for you. They have two small dogs, a cat and two birds. All are very friendly. Not under foot pesty, but there if you want to play with them (which we did). Our room (Orchard Room) was beautiful. It has the most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Soft, with lots of pillows. Perfect. It's location is perfect. Only 15 - 20 minutes from the Casinos and Mystic. Kate gives great directions to everything. If you go to Mystic, you have to stay there. We've decided we're done staying in hotels. But Homespun is going to be a very tough act to follow.
