“A wonderful place for a family reunion”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 August 2011

My family of 21 just had a reunion at the Centennial Inn. Everything worked out perfectly. The suites were spacious, well appointed and clean. Each family was able to have their own space complete with a kitchen. The grounds were well kept.. The pool was great for the small children. The breakfast had lots of choices. The staff were very helpful and met all of our requests. The catered dinners were well prepared. The Inn is easy to get to since it is just off I84 near Hartford. I would highly recommend the Centennial Inn to any family looking for a place for a reunion

“Luxury at the price of a hostel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 July 2011

Centennial Inn was a very pleasant surprise. At the tail end of an extended tour of the east coast, we had just come from a $100 dollar a night 4 foot by 4 foot hostel in New York City that included cockroaches and a lot of dirt. The service we found at Centennial Inn more then met all of our expectations. The $70 a night suite was clean and spacious with a full kitchen, a separate bedroom and two TVs. The breakfast was hot and included eggs, meat and waffles. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the facilities included a basketball court and a washer and dryer. The hotel also offered transportation to casinos and activities in the area. That said, it was a drive from most areas of interest. I'd definitely stay again if I ever found myself in the area.

“Quaint, older, nothing too spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 May 2010

I was in Farmington for a wedding and traveled with a good friend. The room was sufficient, plenty of bathroom and mirror space, which is what 2 girls need!!
The bed is hard as a cement block and the sofa, from what I hear is not any more comfortable. With full kitchen, it is nice for a family, especially with small children. Hotel has not been updated in a VERY long time, so to me, cleanliness was an issue, but I admit I'm a bit obsessive about it.
We were disappointed, there was a BRAND new Hampton Inn approx 2 miles East on the same road the Centennial Inn is on, and wished we would have stayed there!!

“Great price. Nice rooms. Friendly staff.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2010

My husband and I stayed for two nights and took advantage of their stay+skii package @ nearby Sundown. Monetarily speaking it is a great deal! Worth looking into! Stayed in a master suite. The room was clean, nice, well equiped...for two people. If you are traveling with a family you will need extra pots/pans/towe;s which I heard they can provide. The decor was a little outdated but descent nonetheless. We stayed in building J which was a quick car ride away from the main building but we didnt mind. If you go in the summer time it is a walkable distance. Friendly staff. Pet friendly. Our dog loved the room!

“Staff not FRIENDLY!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 August 2009

We checked in and first off, the old woman behind the desk was not at all friendly. We should have known from all the reviews prior to this about her, that we read about. It was not quite a reception. Also, the website, room information included in the room and brochure should be update to exclude 'evening reception' and 'afternoon cookies after
3pm. ' One evening I went to ask for the cookies and the answer was "we just don't have any today." (So tough luck for us, the guests!)
On the positive side, the inn was close enough to Lake Compounce, the reason we were visiting. The pool and basketball court were nice. All in all I would not stay here in the future. I guess we got what we paid for!!
