I stayed 3 nights at the Farmington Homewood Suites. Although I've stayed at Homewood Suites before, this was my first time at this hotel.

The hotel is very conveniently located to I-84. The check in process went smoothly. There is a pantry with staple items for sale, so it was nice to be able to grab some juice for my room when I checked in late on a Monday night.

My room was a king suite with a separate bedroom and living area and kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. The room must have been newly renovated, because it had a very chic decor (new couch and side chair), along with two flat screen TVs. The king bed was super comfortable. I never heard any noise from the other rooms. The room was spotlessly clean, and the maid service was impeccable. There was even a ceiling fan in the bedroom which I thought was a comfy touch. The closet in the bedroom was enormous. Oddly, there was not an alarm clock in the bedroom, which I thought was odd.

The fitness center was very nice and large. There were 3 treadmills, a Precor elliptical and a Precor bike. Everything was in excellent working order. There was also a complete set of free weights, and various other exercise gear (mats, balls, etc.). There was always water, cups, towels, and sanitizing wipes available.

The breakfast had a large selection of items, including 2 hot items (usually some sort of eggs and sausage). The bagels and breads were exceptionally fresh. I was never able to partake of the evening meal service since this was a heavy duty working trip.

Like other Homewood Suites, they do allow dogs, which was a plus for me when I got to meet Wilson the Corgi. Again, the rooms are well sound proofed so I never heard a dog barking from a room.

There are several restaurants nearby. The directory in the room provides directions to many of them.

All in all, I will definitely stay in this hotel if I return to the area.

I tend to agree with other reviewers who stated that this hotel is not the best. However, it served its purpose. My complaints were the maid service finally at 4:30 PM on one day (after I returned from work) and very thin walls separating the guest rooms. I heard the guy in the room next to me snoring away quite clearly one night. To their credit, the hotel is in the process of changing out the older TV's. My room got a new LCD model for the bedroom on my last night there. The living room TV was the outdated cabinet type and probably close to 15 years old. I was surprised that such an old TV was still being used. The picture was not that great and the remote control did not work properly. Maybe its days are numbered.

The lobby and eating area were very clean and up to date and I noticed that, based on the older picture here on tripadvisor.com, the exercise room has been updated. The room now has new treadmills with each having its own TV. As with all Homewood Suites, the hotel serves a complimentary breakfast and light buffet dinner from 5-7 which is great for families on a budget or for those who don't want to dine out. Beer and wine were served complimentary as well.

Would I stay here again? Yeah...I suppose.

My kids and I stayed for just one night, and it was miserable. There was a party going on that lasted until 6am.....loud music, loud voices, slamming doors....all night long! We weren't able to sleep. I called the front desk twice in the middle of the night. I had to do this from my cell phone as in the phone in the room wasn't working properly. The folks working the front desk tried to get the partyers to quiet down but were unable to get the situation under control. Once the noise abated at 6am, we were able to get a little sleep but then we missed the complimentary breakfast which ended at 9am. We had a wedding to go to and needed to show ip early for photos. We showed up ill-rested and hungry. On a positive note, the hotel took the room charge off of my bill, which was appropriate. I would rather have paid for the room and gotten some sleep and breakfast, though.

Ok I am stil here as we type, Here for work so making the best of it, heading on 4 weeks so feel I can speak about the place with an honest opinion. Homewood suites has made being away from home easier. Place is completely renovated and clean, they are putting the finishing touches on the renovations including new tv's for all the rooms, beds are better than at home. They just upgraded they gym equipment this week to include quality treadmills you would see in your local gym. You do not see of hear any signs of renovations.
Breakfast is served daily, Dinner Monday through Thursday good $$ saver for families. Staff has been great responded to every need I have had.
West Hartford 3 miles down the road with many restaraunts
