This is a fairly new hotel minutes away from the quaint town of W. Hartford, CT and the mall. The hotel is trendy and clean. I was at the hotel for 3 weeks for work.
The last day I realized that I left my corporate card on the night stand and called the front desk to learn that the maid turned it in. I was informed that due to the weekend mail service, they would mail it to me on Monday (2 days). However, it took me over 2 weeks to get my card. And I was alerted that an attempt to make a purchase of $4K to Bed, Bath, & Beyond by a hotel employee. Fortunately, Fraud Alert caught the charge.
I would think twice staying here in the future.

Altough the front desk personnel were excellent there was some type of water noise in my room. The nightly reception was late. Breakfast was decent. Work out room is not very good.

I stayed two nights as part of a group attending a conference at the University of Hartford. Most of the stay was good. Check in was efficient, the room was spotless and very comfortable. As a previous reviewer indicated, Internet is not wireless - there is a network port and short cable in the room. That in itself wasn't a big problem for me, but the speed of the connection was a problem. It was clearly overwhelmed and barely usable. My other problem was a loud dripping noise (maybe a drip every 10 seconds) that started very early in the morning.

I stay at Marriott properties probably 70 nights/year, and this is one of my favorites. On Google Maps, it is incorrectly named as "Newington" -- it's actually in Farmington, on the West Hartford border, a couple hundred yards from the West Farms Mall.

The property is new and built with all the usual Courtyard decor which you have probably seen 100 times. What sets it apart is the staff. The are truly excellent, they work hard for their visitors, and got out of their way to make you feel at home. They know the local restaurants, the local highways, and all the little tips (nearest pharmacy?) that can be so helpful when you're visiting an unfamiliar town.

I see another review that questioned the security in the parking lot; I must say I've never had a problem and never given security a thought at this location. It always seemed safe to me.

BTW, if you're unfamilar with the area and need some dinner, just head down to the mall. There are three or four decent restaurants there, you can get a glass of wine and not have a long drive back to the hotel.
