I started writing the history of the whole trip, but decided not to bore you...so here is the jist of it...

Young girl at the front desk decided it was more important to talk to her friends on the phone, than to help a witing customer (a 20 minute wait while no one else was in the lobby).

Asked for a NON-smoking room and ended up with a room that had dirty ashtrays with cigarette butts still in them!

When asked for another room, was told that that was all they had left.

The room was tiny and the beds looked like someone had laid on top of them.

When leaving the next day, while making sure that all of our children's toys were packed up, I was looking under the bed and found a pair of DIRTY (and I mean DIRTY) UNDERWEAR!

That just signed the deal for my family and I. We will never stay there again. That was the most disgusting end to the most uncomfortable night.

The next trip I made up there later in the year, I happily stayed at the Red Roof Inn next door!

Stayed here to attend an event at the "Big E" in Springfield - very convenient, easy to find. It was in a safe area, lots of lights in the parking lot. Some rooms were under construction so parking was cramped (But no noise from the construction) and the handicapped rooms were limited - however, they promised and delivered a first floor room with parking at the door! Very nice decor, clean, and furnished with basics (no hair dryer - darn). Pet friendly - VERY courteous desk help - she provided directions, take out menus, and friendly check in - As someone said, very close to many restaurants, grocery stores, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts for us coffee freaks! I plan a trip back to the Big E around Thanksgiving and have already booked a room! I liked it esp. for the price.

I was suspicious about possible smell of smoke in a non- smoking room, but (and I have a good nose!) it was ok for me.

We stayed here for two nights in late August, 2006.

Firstly, when we entered the room, we heard a loud "BEEP" noise. We quickly realized that the fire alarm was beeping. After noticing that the alarm had no battery in it, we went to the registration desk, and were met with a, "Here's a battery, go put it in." We should've got the hint right there.

In the room, there were bugs, graffiti, broken springs on the bed which poked through the mattress, cigarette burns on every blanket [despite it being a non-smoking room], and an ashtray in the room. Not to mention the smell of smoke and cleaning products. When we inquired about the ashtray, we were told, "When we overbook on smoking rooms, we just use the non-smoking ones as smoking rooms." How unprofessional!

The showerhead was missing, and the water pressure, unlike some hotels, was WAY TOO HARD. The water beat you down, stinging your skin hard enough to break it and cause bleeding!

Basically, this hotel is absolutely horrible. The price [we paid $39.99 a night] was way too high for such a crappy dump. After one night we got a refund and left. We got a nice room at the Red Roof Inn next door for roughly $20 more than we were paying at this hole.

We traveled from Maine to here to make a family trip to Six Flags New England in Springfield. I found this hotel using Delorme Street Atlas and then I checked them out on the web. What we needed was 2 rooms since we have a large family (2 boys, 2 girls, myself and my wife). Suites are simply too expensive at other hotels and besides, we only needed a place to sleep and clean up etc.

Anyway, I would rate our stay at this motel as an enjoyable smooth experience. The rates can't be beat (less than $40) and like their ads say, what you get is a clean comfortable room. It is a little cramped, both double beds pressed against the walls with a small walking space between them but the linen is always clean, the beds made and clean towels on the rack. The staff is friendly and courteous as well.

It's located directly off the highway at the first set of lights so it's easy to find. Very near by (back through the lights) is a Country Buffet restaurant where our kids love to eat. And just around the back of the motel is a large mall with all you'd expect to find as well as many other places to eat all very close, Denny's, Fast food joints, and more.

Six flags is a very close 5 mile drive away. Simply go to the lights and head like you want to get back on the highway (but don't get on the highway) this will take you across the CT river and to a set of lights. Turn right then go about 4 miles through beautiful country on a nice road. Look for Six Flags on the right.

Basically this is *the* place to stay on a budget and the location/proximity to Six Flags can't be beat. You can ignore all of the normal highway signs leading there and thus avoid all the congested traffic that everyone else has to deal with.

One last note and that is that there is no pool but if Six Flags is your destination then you don't care since they have a huge water park there where you can swim all day and get it out of your system before you head back to the motel.

We've stayed here on 3 different trips and it's always the same, nice.
