I stayed at this property on Saturday, November 26th for 1 night. As it was near downtown Hartford, CT, it was convenient a location as I had to catch an early Amtrak into New Haven, CT. We were able to use a coupon for $74 which we found in one of those coupon books at Denny's. The cost of the room was truly why we decided to stay at the Comfort Inn.
The lobby is clean, the front desk staff seemed average upon check-in, and the standard room we were given was rather nice. However, the bed is a bit too plush, which at times makes you feel as if you are sinking in. The room was clean, yet the bathroom in room 307 was broken. The flapper inside the toilet tank did not work properly and you had to manually push this down onto the flush valve seat so that it would fill and stop making noise. This, of course, was rather bothersome and we decided to keep the tank lid off the tank so that we could manually do the above process. I found the front desk staff very non pro-active. A group of Blacks that had been staying in room 310 were obnoxiously rude and loud. One of the inhabitants actually stood outside the door and laughed hysterically for over 5 minutes. The laughs got so intolerable that I actually had to call the front desk to report this noise disruption, and was told by the front desk attendant, a young Black woman, that she would come up, yet she never did. Also, the room doors slammed so often. I do not know if there is not enough traction on the doors, or if people have the tendency to slam room doors, but 'everything' could be heard from the corridor. The soundproofing in the rooms, especially on the ceiling of the room, are not all too great. More than once, I heard clamors and items being dropped or shuffled from the room above. My overall stay was ok, but left much to be desired.
