“Very good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 July 2011

I guess it is unlikely that anyone would come to the Clarion hotel for a vacation, although the Lake Compounce theme park is nearby. However, for travelling on business it is a great place to stay.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. There's free coffee in the lobby and free wifi in the rooms. There's a nice small swimming pool, a small fitness room, and a restaurant.

The rooms are very comfortable, clean and have plain, but pleasant decor. The rooms are well soundproofed and there is good aircon (as well as windows that you can open).

The Clarion hotel is simple and clean, and is really excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Ask for the 6th floor - there are nice views

“Worst ever never come here”

I walked into the hotel with bad feeling. It looked rundown and it was in the middle of nowhere. i checked in and there was cookies on the counter i went to take one when another guest warned me that the check in lady had pink eye. She said " I just made them i didnt touch them" then i walked to the elevator and the button panel was caked with dirt and broken i got out and walked to our room on the 2nd floor. i turned on the light and it flickered. it was the only light in there b/c the other lamp where broken. the tv was from the 1980s and only had 10 channels that had stattic in the background. then the chair had garbage under the seat. the desk as broken and the bathroom had blood on the broken light bulb. and there was a sign that said "If you only use the towel once hang it up and we dont clean it. After we checked out the resturaunt it had 3 tables and his creepy bot smiled at me really creepy and im a guy. the only good part of this hotel was that the food was good. I asked where the bathroom was and the told me down the hall i walked down the dark hallway that was pitch black and had offices that hadnt been useds in years. there as dirt in he sink and floor. Then i checked out the pool it had no light it it was in a warehouse type area and the shower curtain had dirt on it and it was ripped on the floor. Worst Hotel EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sometimes reviews are written by a Guest out of anger. The Clarion Inn of Bristol prides itself on responding to any issue that may arise throughout a Guest's stay. We also pride ourselves on protecting the environment from a Guest that may become disruptive and may need Police assistance. We feel that our Hotel places the needs and safety of our Guests and Co-workers at the core of our culture here, as not every Guest will be the model Guest. It is our responsibility to react to situations when the safety and security are threatened to make this a safe place for everyone. We would like to thank our local Bristol Police for aiding us when these situations present themselves.

Warm Regards,

Ken Spino - GM

“New management makes a big difference!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

I stayed in this hotel in June and told myself I would never stay there again due to the condition of the hotel. When I was there my room was dirty, the pool area was dirty, the fitness center was dirty and the restaurant food was gross. When I asked to speak with the manager there was none.

Then a new general manager was hired and actually contacted me to come back at no charge and give the hotel another chance. She was amazing, she sold me on the idea. In just a few weeks time the room was clean, the pool area had been painted, cleaned and had more towels than you could ever imagine, the fitness center was clean but still dated and the restaurant felt clean and the food was amazing!

The general manager assured me that there was a new management team and that they were doing everything they could to clean up the hotel. She also told me that a renovation is coming and the hotel is going to be amazing! I was actually excited! She has a great personality and obviously knows what she is doing! Great job to the new team!

“never ever ever go here”

we checked in and all was great. were warned there would be no bath towels in room until later. they never came but after a call to housekeeping they were delivered. The beds were a nightmare with squeaking springs and they were covered with some type of plastic. the pool was dirty with hair floating everywhere -- disgusting!! the breakfast was below average with greasy sausage, bland potatoes -- but you could buy an omelet for $3.80. Ridiculous! Staff was a mixture of very friendly to OMG I hate my job rude! The walls are paper thin and you can hear ever baby's cry -- Never ever will I stay here again.

Thank you for your comments as we are a brand new team here at the Clarion Hotel and welcome all reviews. We have made many exciting changes since the date of your stay and review and would love for you to give us a try again. We have recently replaced all beds with a select Serta product our Guests are raving about and renovated the entire pool area. We have also completely revamped the breakfast, lunch and dinner menus at our Restaurant, Jillians. Our Prime rib special Thursday through Sunday is rated as one of the best around! Furthermore, our new Team is committed to making every stay a clean, comfortable and enjoyable experience for our Guests. So I invite you to give us a try and I guarantee you will be satisfied.
