“Welcoming Venue and Hosts!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2010

We loved this Inn. We have small children and we were in a wedding in Plymouth so we stopped for a night at this Inn after seeing the website. Beautiful property and beautiful art. The Innkeeper and her husband were very friendly. Got a great breakfast and a good night sleep. We loved historic photos and art in the house and really enjoyed innkeeper. She was so sweet and had lots of great conversation. She was very interested in getting to know about us and we had a wonderful breakfast together. Totally loved our stay!

“Very disapppointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 August 2010

We recently stayed at the Chimneey Crest Manor and were very disappointed with the location and surrounding area of the home and its state of disrepair. The pictures and description of the facility did not prepare us for this. Although the house itself is a treasure, it desperately needs to be restored. The rooms were huge, bed was comfortable and the decor was fine except for the kitchen area, which was very old, dated and should be breightened up. The hosts seem like nice people, but they do not seem overly ambitious about being owners of a bed and breakfast, which we have stayed in many. It is more as if they are just letting people stay at their house because it is so large. If that is the case, then they should not be charging the rates they are charging and they should be similar to area Fairfield inns, etc at $80. Instead I happily wanted to pay $165 because I thought we were going to stay in a splendid mansion on beautiful grounds and be pampered. Neither my husband or I felt that way when we left, and we don't often agree!

“The best of 3 New England B & B 's on our trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2010

What a charming place with charming inhabitants! Although we were the only guests on this particular weeknight, we would stay here again and go out of our way to include Bristol in our travels in order to spend more time at Chimney Crest Manor. We really enjoyed Stella and her friend who were in charge of our care and breakfast. Dan & Cynthia were also quite friendly and helpful. My husband was on a business trip and the only negative was difficulty with internet accessibility.

“Old-fashioned elegance and comfort in a beautiful, quiet setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2009

Like some other reviewers, it was only this inn that brought us to Bristol. The tudor-style house with its spacious public rooms and antique furnishings was as extraordinary as advertised! We particularly enjoy meeting other travellers in our B&B stays so we were disappointed to be the only guests here, but on the positive side we were given a free room upgrade and enjoyed meeting Cythia and Dante. They were friendly and helpful hosts, with plenty of tips on local restaurants and places of interest. Our room (The Farmington Suite) was spacious, elegant and comfortably furnished with a beautiful outlook. The weather was cold, which did rather expose the need for modernisation of the heating and plumbing but this didn't spoil our enjoyment of the authentic 'period' accommodation. The breakfasts were tasty and plentiful.

“A fary tale location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2009

This B&B is a true fary tale location for travellers. We stayed in Bristol only because of this beautiful place after spotting it while driving by - a mansion with very nice and comfortable rooms and suites, a living room with piano and fireplace, afternoon tea, outside terrasse with a beautiful view. The innkeepers Dante and Cynthia are very warm, friendly and helpful, Cynthia's buttermelk pancakes and other breakfast specialties are delicious and prepare for exploring the larger area around Bristol. Dante and Cynthia also give good advice for activities in the area and have much to tell about the area as well as the mansion and its background. We can only recommend this place.
