“Great Hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

I have been staying here off and on over the past few months for work and I have been really impressed. I would compare this hotel to a Marriott / Sheraton / Hilton. It looks like it has been recently updated within the last few years, so it is far nicer than a typical Holiday Inn.

Pros:
-Free WiFi
-Free breakfast voucher or $5 credit towards food for Priority Club members
-Huge TVs (42 inch?) with full HD on all channels, not just a few like most hotels. They also have actual cable boxes in the rooms, so you get a full channel line up and the guide.
-Very good hotel gym with mostly updated equipment
-A block from the train station
-Close to I-95
-Secure parking across the street
-Happy hour every night
-Very friendly staff

Cons:
-Sketchy area, but you are certainly safe in/around the hotel.
-Not too many dining options that are within walking distance. There is the on-site restaurant/bar, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Subway and a burger place on the block. Go to Fairfield for tons of options
-Wifi can be slow at times

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a high floor. If you have status, ask for an upgrade to the executive floor.

“Not For Me!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2011

Stayed here during the Christmas holiday and wished that there were other options in Bridgeport. The place is a security nightmare and reminds one of visiting a movie set for 'Thugsville'. Not a very good area, dissolute, boarded up buildings and the only culinary delight was McDonalds!
The morning breakfast could best be called a 'Fatman's Brunch' that would be appropriate for anyone looking for a carb bing. The bartender who doubled as a dishwasher had limited knowledge of drinks and seemed like a plant in a Scoresse movie. Avoid this place if you can but definitely check it out if you are looking for characters for a B-movie.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms below the 5th floor - too much street noise from the bar down the road.

“Good value for a short stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011 via mobile

I was hesitant to stay here, more due to the location, after reading previous reviews. I decided to go for it, and am pleased with my decision. You could walk from the train station, but I called for the shuttle as it was late when I arrived. You could tell it was an industrial town, but didn't look any worse/scarier than any other similar town. Everyone was helpful and curtious. The room was clean and quite. I was pleased to see my favorite Bath & Body Works scent. And free wi-fi is not a given anymore, so that was helpful during my stay. If you are staying for a few nights on business or for a short weekend, this will serve your purpose.

“Good location but average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 November 2011

The location was good as compared to the rest of Bridgeport, but the bathrooms could have been better. The elevators were very secure with a good security system. Had a laundry room which was good for us as we had traveled from India. The breakfast was good and the reception staff courteous. However, not value for money being the only five star property in the city.
