Now called Bristlecone Lodge. We booked this last minute and it could not have been better. The cabins look brand new and everything in them looks to be brand new. The mattress and bedding on the bed in the bedroom were superb, not your ordinary hotel bedding. Plush robes hanging in the closet which were great to snuggle into after a dip in the hot tub in the evenings. There is a grill right outside the cabin w/ a picnic table that we used to cookout on and do smores one night. There is a campfire ring w/ chairs around it and wood for anyone that wants to do that. The rooms were super clean and plenty of linens provided. Breakfast in the main building in the mornings was great. We saw a sign-up sheet for a potluck that they were having coming up. Everyone we encountered working there or just helping out was courteous and helpful. Even informed us of road closures in and around the area due to fires and flooding. Could not have asked for a better place to stay.
The only "downside" I can even come up w/ for this place is the location being right by the road. Even though it is close to the road they do a great job of putting the cabins as far as possible from it and situating them on the property and trees around. I can easily overlook the proximity to the road because of all of the positives that come with staying here. It's not like they can move the road so they worked great with what they had. Everything that a lodging establishment is responsible for they passed with flying colors. GREAT JOB!
