“Best location outside Winter Park Resort”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2011

Best thing about Beaver Village is its location. It is in the city of Winter Park (versus the resort of Winter Park Village where the actual skiing and resort are) and on the side of town closest to the lifts. This means that if and when you use the free city bus to the slopes, you have a really short ride there and back! On weekends, Beaver provides a private shuttle that supplements the city bus and drops you off at an even closer location to the lifts.

The rooms themselves were comfortable too. Dated but very well-maintained. Try to get the third floor; it has vaulted ceilings. I would say that while it was visibly clean, I thought it could use a good spring cleaning particularly in the kitchen. But nothing that caused me to complain or keep me from staying there again or recommending it to a friend.

“Beaver Village 1134 was excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2011

The 2009 review of Beaver Village 1134 (VRBO 66416) is very outdated and should be ignored. Jeff and Annette were great to work with setting up this condo during our recent visit to Winter Park Beaver Village. This condo worked perfect for us (2 families - 4 adults and 6 young adults). We had plenty of extra space, there were plenty of TVs in the rooms, and the kitchen was well stocked. They have 2 water heaters now and we didn't have any problems like those stated in the 2009 review. We had no problems whatsoever during out stay in this condo. In fact, we broke their coffee pot and I sent Annette an e-mail and she responded with "no problem, we took care of it." We had a great visit and this condo worked very well for us. I'd love to stay their again sometime....

“Poorly run business and liars”

We reserved two rooms at Beaver Village approximately 1 month in advance and also paid half of the total bill as a deposit at the time of the reservation. When we arrived to check in, we were told that the reservation should have never been accepted as the "HOTEL" section was closed for the season. This was the Labor Day weekend and we had no other place we could stay. We needed two separate rooms and that is what we had paid for. There was no indication that we had no room at all as they had accepted the reservation and the deposit weeks earlier! To her credit, the young lady who was working the office seemed to feel badly about what had occurred. After a lenghty discussion, she allowed us to check into a two bedroom condominium which they also ran and told us there would be no additional charges due to the trouble they caused us. We checked into the condo and really had no choice but to stay there as we had no other place we could go. The condo itself was an attractive place until you began to look at certain details. The mattresses were worn out. The sheets and pillow cases had hair on them. One of the advantages to having two separate rooms is having two TVs. In the condo there was a TV in one bedroom but not the other. The walls were thin as you could hear people talking and walking by outside of the building.
After our three night stay was complete, we returned home back in the east. Three weeks later, a charge showed up on the credit card that the deposit was paid on. Upon calling Beaver Lodge to find out why there was a charge they said we owed it. Beaver Lodge refused to make this right so we will dispute the charge with the credit card company.
The lesson learned: Do not make reservations or stay with Beaver Lodge in Winter Park. They cannot be trusted.

“Perfect for our needs for a summer stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2010

Stayed with 8 friends and family in July 2010. The condo was perfect for our needs and being a top floor end unit it provided an extra large window for a view and ventilation as well as some extra quiet not having anyone above us.

Condo is appointed well and kitchen is new or recently remodeled.

With the bunk beds this would be a great place for family w/ some smaller children. We had all adults and it still worked out well.

Enjoy your stay

“Wonderful Experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2010

We just got back from spending the new years weekend at Winter Park. Beaver Village was a nice, we stayed in buldling 17. The decor was beautiful. The condo was warm and inviting. The only compliant was the bed was a little firm. Already thinking about a return trip sometime. The shuttle to the slopes was great. Would recommend renting a car if you have to travel from the airport. The airport transportation is pricely and for about the same price you can have a car. A car would be helpful to get around town, so you don't have to wait for a long time using the bus system. Christy Sports is the way to go for ski rental, You get 20% off when staying at Beavers! Enjoy!
