Please be aware that these units are owned and managed by many different people, leaving a wide variety of conditions in the units. You will notice some Trip Advisor reviews are excellent and others are absolutely terrible, leaving you to wonder how Hi Country Haus can have such opposite reviews. Well, after staying there for one very long night, I now understand. We reserved Unit 1217 for 2 nights (+cleaning fee) through a local property manager. To say the unit was disgusting is an understatement. I told my husband it reminded me of a frat house that couldn't afford a cleaning lady. The dirty mismatched thrift store furniture was dilapidated and the whole unit was in disrepair. On top of the general shabbiness, it was also obvious the unit had not been cleaned. Further, the thermostat was set at 50 degrees. We cranked it up the moment we arrived but could not get the temperature in the unit above 60 degrees, even after letting the furnace run all night AND building a fire. We arrived too late to find somewhere else to stay that first night, but we were out of there first thing the next morning (after writing an email to the property manager which included photos of the filth). To her credit, the property manager only charged us for the night we stayed and refunded the second night's price as well as the cleaning fee. However, the ordeal of moving a family of five while also trying to get in full days of skiing was a serious pain. I would highly recommend thoroughly investigating each Hi Country Haus unit individually before renting and DO NOT rely on vrbo photos. Our unit had been staged and photos carefully taken to hide most of the problems. Before you rent ask when the unit has last been remodeled, what type of heating is used, and try to find reviews of the specific unit NOT of the complex. Some Hi Country Haus units have been fully remodeled and redone. Others, such as unit 1217, have been left to rot and are still being rented.

We just spent a couple of nights in Winter Park and had a great time. The condo (building 14, unit 14) was clean and had everything we needed. Technology could use a bit of an upgrade (Nintendo 64 and Batman on VHS? haha), but the bathroom and shower looked like they had been redone recently and were very nice. The bed was comfy, the couch is a tad outdated and so not the best support for a pregnant gal like myself. But we didn't spend a lot of time on the couch as there was a ton to do in town. We also used the pool at the rec center. Very nice! Would definitely recommend this property to friends and family. Great value!

The website (Vacations Incorporated) was great. It showed what each unit looked like as well as the other amenities-pool etc. We took our time finding exactly the right unit . It fit all of our needs. My grandson was so excited that he would sleep in a bunk bed. We loved the fact that there were recliners, flat screen tv and a fireplace and deck. It had a fireplace and the scenery from the deck was great. But....the unit looked nothing like the pictures. In fact, it wasn't even the same unit we requested. Why put pictures online and give you a choice of units if your choices are not honored.

The unit we were in was very clean and suited our needs. The decor was outdated and the bathrooms were not nice but everything was tolerable.

First we had ( party of 4 guys) an appartement in building 8. This was outdated! Linda (hi country office) gave us an appartement building 14, which was very goog. This location is nearby a shuttle for winter park slopes, about 15 min drive. This area is awesome. Lot's of good snow. We wish to thank Linda again for her support.
