“Autumn/winter visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

We began our stay in the Lodge lounging by the cozy fireplace munching on popcorn and sipping tea. Our night in the Mt. Hope room was peaceful, followed by waking to the morning sun through the two east facing windows. Our breakfast was fantastic, enjoyed at the sunny table in the southeast corner of the common room. Since we happened to have arrived just after the first winter snow (in early October), we were able to enjoy snow-capped mountain vistas and beautifully colored leaves around the Lodge itself. Our host was very congenial and helpful.

Room Tip: Mt Hope Room has east facing windows; private bath.

“true Colorado”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

We booked 2 weeks in advance to celebrate our 27th anniversary and even though it was mid week, all the cabins were booked. We stayed in the main 'cabin' attached to the main B&B but it is new with all the conveniences including a jacuzzi tub in the main bath which was great. The dining table faces the mountains with outstanding views and on the deck is a chiminea stove that is fabulous! And there is an outside large jacuzzi that was so relaxing in the cool autumn air after a day of hiking. Lodge owners are wonderful! We will return. Note that some cabins allow pets but not this one

“Great place in the mountains.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

Love staying at these cabins. They are close to a lot of trails and are quaint and rustic. It is wonderful for a family trip or a romantic one. The inn keepers are very helpful and friendly. If mount elbert is on your list to climb staying here is the best choice.

“Nice little place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

Mount Elbert Lodge is a nice little B&B. They have a lot of atmosphere and the place is just cool; tons of books, games and magazines to cure up with in a nice comfy chair. We got a little discount for booking on the phone and at the last moment.

The breakfast is a bit skinny - with just the basics. But the rooms are clean and themed with plenty of towels and soap samples. Also, our room had a jacuzzi tubb and we are both shower-type people.

All-in-all, it was a good stay and we'd go back again, but maybe ask a few more questions first.

Room Tip: Ask about shower or tub. Back room better then front room due to road noise. Bring your own grocerie...

“Just where we wanted to be!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

As things had quickly cooled down in Colorado after weeks in the 90s, we decided that camping near Leadville after Labor Day might not be such a good idea. So we checked availability and found that our favorite cabin for this time of year was open for just two nights during the next several weeks and we decided to take advantage of their "book today, stay tonight" special which gave us 20% of the regular rate. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening wine next to a campfire along the creek for two days--kind of like a camping trip with a bed and a roof to keep us dry during rain storms. It really couldn't have been more perfect!
