If you're looking for 5-star accomodations...then drive on by. Here you'll be served a great smile, comfy warm spaces and great conversations in front of the fireplace. Take a deep breath and relax....

Come in after a day on the trails and drink some wine with the friendly bartenders and servers. One of them might even play a piano tune or two for you.

Head for the bedrooms in this historical buidling and you can imagine the sounds of the former borders and the old stagecoaches that once frequented the Inn. Enjoy, relax.

If your're looking for 5 star luxury accomodations, then pass this Inn on by. But if you are looking for a warm, friendly place to relax and make friends for a few days... this is the place. Come on in, the door is always open. P.S. I liked the Payne Peak room.

I was really looking forward to eating at this quaint-looking restaurant, and was disappointed.
The staff was friendly, but slow. The atmosphere was quaint, but the television in the bar area was loud and detracted from the charm. The TV was airing the Democratic Convention in Denver, so maybe it's not normally up so loud, but I kept thinking a little light music would have been so much nicer.

It was VERY expensive. I was the only one eating dinner. The other 3 in our party had eaten a late lunch, so only ordered desserts. For my dinner, 2 beers, and 3 desserts -- $75.00!

The Buffalo steak I ordered was underdone and blah. Everything else on my plate was average. The cheese sauce looked like it had been sitting under the warming lamps too long. Maybe the cooks were distracted watching the convention, as well, I don't know, but, like I said, I was VERY disappointed.

In the small village of Twin Lakes, Colorado (between Leadville and Aspen) stands a rustic inn built in 1879. My wife and I and some friends recently met here for diner. The owner and host of The Black Cat Bed and Breakfast had recomended we visit. The Black Cat is a few miles down the road with one of the most beautiful views we have ever seen including the Twin Lakes and the surrounding mountains. The food at The Inn of the Black Wolf was excellent and the place is unique. It lies in a sparsley populated area, yet the parking lot was full(a very good sign). We were pleasantly surprised to find excellent food and service in such a remote place. Be sure to stop in for a wonderful experience! Travel on towards Aspen and you will cross Indendence Pass, the highest pass in the U.S.
