Every year I take the kids to a Hotel while Mom does all the Christmas stuff. This year we decided to try the newly renovated DoubleTree Hotel in Thornton off I-25 & 120th Ave. We usually stay at the La Quinta but the kids wanted to try somewhere new. We were greeted by the nicest lady and given cookies (yum). The room was GREAT! The pool and hot tub Excellent. The kids had a great time and can't wait to go back.

Very welcoming and hospitable staff that took care of our every need and want. Great room (5th floor castle turret) with 180 degree view of the Rocky Mountains! Delicious drinks at happy hour in the bar with great F&B Manager who made them to our liking. Romantic outdoor fireplaces and waterfall for having that drink and cozying up with your sweetie. Yummy breakfast burrito and coffee in the morning. Very clean room, hot tub, exercise room, and general areas. Planning dinner there in the near future, as we are Colorado residents not that far from the hotel. This place rocks!

Great bed, nice 5th floor room.
No towel racks in bathroom, just 2 hooks on the back of the door, not enough to hang a bath, hand towel and wash cloths, plus maybe a robe or wet swimsuit. Personally, since we only stayed one night, it didn’t much matter, but was a bit of an inconvenience for an otherwise such nice place. I did suggest at the front desk that they fix that.
Noisy ventilation system that you couldn’t turn off. Maybe other rooms/floors would be quieter, but I'm used to silence at home.
Also, surprised there was no microwave in room, but there was a fridge.

Nice bar area; friendly staff all around. Nice patio with fireplaces burning. Didn’t visit pool or workout area.

GREAT breakfast buffet with “real fruit” and real veggies to put on an omelet. I’d consider skipping the Hampton Inns we usually stay at for business, just for that alone.

Wireless available but very slow in our room. Maybe it's better in other rooms.

From what we could gather, this hotel only recently became the Doubletree, so the interior is newly renovated and looks and feels great. When you check in you get a fresh baked cookie, mmm. The bar is equipped with high ceilings, huge flatscreens, and a couple of fire pits just outside, blazing brightly. The rooms were very nice and clean, but were nothing to write home about. Flatscreen tvs, coffee maker, and mini fridge sans mini-bar :-( in the room. We were allowed to check out late (3pm!) without any difficulty, though the cleaning staff were extremely noisy in the morning outside our door. Overall a pleasant stay!
