My wife and I stayed at the New Sheridan Hotel in Telluride for one night on a week-long trip around Colorado. Our room was on the 3rd (top) floor overlooking the street. The room was very large, as was the bathroom. It was very clean. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable, maybe the best I've ever slept on. The furniture was historically proper for the period the original hotel was built and first used. In the Colorado mountains, many hotels do not have air conditioning as the evenings are always cool. We found our room to be too warm for good sleeping, so we opened the two windows overnight. There was a lot of noise that came into our room. First, we had the pleasure of hearing a number of very loud and drunk people leaving the two bars on the first floor, and then about 5 AM the street sweeping machine decided to make a number of passes by the hotel. Neither of which was the hotels fault, but you may want to ask for a room that doesn't face the street if you are a light sleeper.
The rooftop hot tubs (two of them) were very nice. There is no hotel parking area, so you need to find a spot on one of the residential streets. It is a little bit of a walk, but you can park in front of the hotel just to unload your luggage, if the distance is a concern. We parked in a street behind the hotel, and some clown mashed right up against the bumper of our brand new car. Next time, we'll park even farther away. We also enjoyed the historic pictures on the hallway walls of the hotel - great history!
