“It was like being at home”

We had booked the La Quinta since we had stayed at a few others and really enjoyed them. When we checked in our room was extremely cold! The GM took care of us immediately and switched our room and even warmed up our new room. The GM and his wife were awesome! No matter our question or request - they took care of us. We were in Steamboat for the birth of our grandson. The hotel was just minutes from the hospital. The owners inquired every time they saw us about our grandson and family. They made us feel welcome and at home. It was wonderful to come to our room after the time spent at the hospital and just relax and shut down for the day. My husband also enjoyed a day of skiing and they were very helpful in getting him to the shuttle for the ski area. I would definitely recommend this hotel. We had the most wonderful stay!

Dear Irish from Cork Minn, :
Your have a nice looking new born grand son, congratulation! Steamboat is always cold in the Winter, we make sure our guests will keep warm in their room. Your husband got the right place to ski, Steamboat is famous in its ski mountains. We are so happy you got double happiness on your trip in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Thanks for spending your time to share this feedback to other people in the world.
Kind Regards,
John La

“Right Sized room with Great views”

We decided to stay here after a very bad experience with a hotel across the street. The GM was very understanding about our situation and got us in as fast as he could and also gave us some tips on how to deal with our problem. Room is a very nice size and we have a FULL mountain view outside our window. The Flatscreen TV was a very nice surprise. The room also has a dorm size mini fridge and a microwave. Bathroom is a little small but we were well stocked with 3 large towels, washcloths and hand towels. Beds are very comfy!!!

Their breakfast was very nice with sausage, hard boiled eggs, waffles, toast, bagels, juice, coffee, cereal and fruit.

The only complaint I have is not really able to understand the Gm or his wife who runs the front desk, so have patience.

It also has an indoor pool and hot tub area, and I noticed no weird smells of food cooking.

“Walked out”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Booked into this property by travel service. Walked in to shabby, dark, lobby, with the strong smell of greasy food. Was supposed to be a pre paid stay and the owners tried to get me to put stay on my card. Can not comment on the rooms but if lobby and check in are any indication....
Went to Hampton Inn down the road. Much nicer for 5$ less per night.

A week ago, my kids and I spent two nights at this hotel for snow skiing. I was so impressed by hotel cleanness and great hospitality of the host and hostess. The hotel room is very nice and clean with plenty of room. The room rate is pretty reasonable and affordable. The hotel is also very close to Steamboat ski area (a few minutes driving). I would strongly recommend it.

Room Tip: If you don't have pet with you and do not want to stay the room that allow for pet, directly ca...

“El Cheapo”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

I concur with several previous observations: the owners live in the motel, strong smell of food being cooked. But the most annoying thing was that everything was exceedingly minimalist; very small soaps, cheap paper cups, small towels, small amount of food at breakfast, small butter, small jam etc. It was more or less clean, but not elegant in any way. We paid $118 per night, which should have been more like $79, considering the quality level.
