Steamboat on-mountin lodging is either small, old, expensive or a long walk from the lift. This year we chose the expensive route and were happy we did. The staff here is great. They go out of their way to help. The maintenance guy showed us to our room and helped with bags. The front desk staff was knowledgable about all the area food, activities and services. The rooms are large and confortable. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking and serving stuff. Furniture was high quality, comfortable and sturdy. Beds were comfortable. Master bath had a steam shower and a jetted tub. Two big hot tubs and an indoor/outdoor pool (the kids loved this).
A few odd things (not bad, just odd). There are three buildings and the room numbers are not intuitive until you know the code; ask. Ski in/out is up the stairs from the office. Skiis can be left on the rack at the top of the stairs and a service takes care of them over night. Parking is carports. The entrance is not on Apres Ski Way but a little street with no name.
