“Unsafe conditions at Ski Plaza resturant”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 April 2010

We stayed at Ski Time Square in last week of Dec 2006 in 2007. We have stayed at many locations that offer snow and fun. However for the 5 nights we were there the Plaza location was full of icy conditions at every possible turn. The first night the stroller our friends had for the two year old was the only thing that kept her from landing face down as we walked towards the Sheraton, the area was covered with snow that had melted during the day and at refroze in area's that there wasnt enough light or not posted. We loved Steamboat but would stay at the Grand instead of the Torian Plum Plaza.

“Starting to Get a Little Dated”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 March 2008

Some friends and I rented a three bedroom condo at the Plaza at Ski Times Square for three days to enjoy all the Steamboat has to offer (namely - some great pow).

The Room
The room that we were issued was a little bit dated. It could have definitely used some new carpet and was missing some of the molding around the edges in some of the rooms. The kitchen had just about everything in it that you would need to cook a decent meal. The living room was good size. The master bedroom was located downstairs and had its own private bathroom. There were two bedrooms located upstairs along with an additional bathroom.

The Showers
Since I'm a tall guy, I always like to review the showers since some hotels think that it's funny to make a guy over 6' tall stand in a shower that's barely 5' tall. Our three bedroom condo came equipped with two bathrooms. One bathroom was private bathroom located off the master bedroom. The other bathroom was located upstairs. The shower in the private bathroom was good - it had good height and good pressure. However, the shower located upstairs was a JOKE! The ceiling for the shower follows the slope of the roof. However, the architect did not plan it out very well because there is not much head room for the shower. There MIGHT be enough head room for someone about 5' tall. For this reason, I would not recommend that two couples share this three bedroom condo unless they are comfortable sharing the private bathroom in the master bedroom. All of my buddies and I ended up using just the private bathroom.

Proximity to Ski Slopes
The Plaza is relatively close to the ski resort. It will take you 10-15 minutes to walk from your room to the gondola. You have to walk across the street and through a parking garage to get to the slopes.

Other Features
The Plaza is located in good proximity to some decent restaurants and shops. You do have access to hottubs, but the hottubs are located in the Thunderhead Lodge. This lodge is a short walk away from the Plaza (less than a quarter mile). It is a long cold walk though when you have wet hair and it's freezing outside.

Overall, I would probably recommend this room for a couple and some kids or a good group of friends. The room does have decent value as it is among the cheapest rooms located within walking distance of the slopes.

“Great Value Near Center of Action”

We stayed as a two-family, four adults/three kids combo in a 2BDR condo at the P@STS in March 2001. We've been to Steamboat on four different trips and stayed in different places each time.

P@STS is probably the sweet spot of close proximity to lifts, restaurants, and the base area (i.e. walking distance of 500 yds or less) at very reasonable cost. The property is a bit dated, but still "nice". There are large indoor and outdoor hot tubs and a sauna.
