Some friends and I rented a three bedroom condo at the Plaza at Ski Times Square for three days to enjoy all the Steamboat has to offer (namely - some great pow).
The Room
The room that we were issued was a little bit dated. It could have definitely used some new carpet and was missing some of the molding around the edges in some of the rooms. The kitchen had just about everything in it that you would need to cook a decent meal. The living room was good size. The master bedroom was located downstairs and had its own private bathroom. There were two bedrooms located upstairs along with an additional bathroom.
The Showers
Since I'm a tall guy, I always like to review the showers since some hotels think that it's funny to make a guy over 6' tall stand in a shower that's barely 5' tall. Our three bedroom condo came equipped with two bathrooms. One bathroom was private bathroom located off the master bedroom. The other bathroom was located upstairs. The shower in the private bathroom was good - it had good height and good pressure. However, the shower located upstairs was a JOKE! The ceiling for the shower follows the slope of the roof. However, the architect did not plan it out very well because there is not much head room for the shower. There MIGHT be enough head room for someone about 5' tall. For this reason, I would not recommend that two couples share this three bedroom condo unless they are comfortable sharing the private bathroom in the master bedroom. All of my buddies and I ended up using just the private bathroom.
Proximity to Ski Slopes
The Plaza is relatively close to the ski resort. It will take you 10-15 minutes to walk from your room to the gondola. You have to walk across the street and through a parking garage to get to the slopes.
Other Features
The Plaza is located in good proximity to some decent restaurants and shops. You do have access to hottubs, but the hottubs are located in the Thunderhead Lodge. This lodge is a short walk away from the Plaza (less than a quarter mile). It is a long cold walk though when you have wet hair and it's freezing outside.
Overall, I would probably recommend this room for a couple and some kids or a good group of friends. The room does have decent value as it is among the cheapest rooms located within walking distance of the slopes.
