We are a young couple and do not mind any way to save money. We love having a kitchen in the room as well. We were thrilled to find out that you can rent the 'living room' that has a bathroom, pull out couch to sleep on, fireplace and a full kitchen. Not the most comfy sleeping arrangements but it worked fine for us. Awesome breakfast in the morning - my favorite meal of the day! Love coming back to the room to relax at lunch. Hot tub outside is a great location and plenty big since there are 2. We will always stay here when in Steamboat

The staff and managers at the hotel were all very friendly and accommodating. We had a 2 room condo suite and it was quite large and well appointed. Breakfast at the Cabin restaurant was quite good and the service very good.

The location is unbeatable since it's only a short walk across the street to the gondola.

The pool is heated and has two very large salt water hot tubs which were awesome after a cold day on the slopes.

We stayed at the Grand for three nights during Musicfest. We were there for skiing so we were surprised by the crowds. Some of the Texans were pretty rowdy outside until after midnight, but the police showed up outside the hotel and broke it up. It didn't really disturb our sleep since we went to bed around that time anyway.

I would definitely recommend this hotel and will be back next time I'm in Steamboat.

The Steamboat Grand provided us with a wonderful family base for Christmas 2011. We chose to have a suite which comprised a massive sitting/dining/kitchen room; my 13 year old son said his hockey team could have practiced drills in it!; double bedroom and bathroom attached through a connecting door to another room with 2 massive beds and bathroom. Tastefully decorated and decently equipped for the longer stay. Accom so pleasant we chose to eat in on a number of occasions, even managing to roast a chicken!
Breakfast was included so we did breakfast in the restaurant; service was at times a little leisurely and,in fact, after 3 days did go on to a buffet system which what it provided in speed cut down on choice, no pancakes!!
The Leisure Club had a decent sized pool and to large hot tubs which even in the warmer days were a lovely temp, the gym wasn't tried by us but looked typical for an hotel.
The public areas were very attractively decorated, lots of space.
Staff were polite and helpful. One real bonus was the hotel bus which ran between there and Steamboat town itself which you rang for a pick up in town, very efficient and saved us money in taxis.
The only thing they couln't control was the snow, a little lacking on our stay but still a beautiful place and would return

The room we were in was very spacious and clean. One of its pros is definitely free wifi and a super accommodating staff, it's also very close to the base of the mountain and you can have them hold your gear by the mountain if you don't want to lug it around the hotel with you. The parking is kind of pricey $15 for valet or $10 DIY but I think that goes with most resort places. My absolute favorite part of this resort is the gorgeous pool outside. It's a heated saltwater pool, surrounded by 2 huge hot hot hot tubs! So those are awesome but it get's a little better....one side of the pool exits in to the "spa room" where there is a dry sauna and *wait for it* a eucalyptus infused steam room! Really it is the perfect combination for a post-ski tri-BATH-alon. Just don't drink too much and get lightheaded from the altitude and the hot-tubbing and you'll be ok. Oh, and find a way to mark which robe from the room is yours when you go down to the pool etc. so someone else doesn't walk off with your robe....
