My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Mariposa in October 2011. It was a getaway for my birthday...from the hustle and bustle of life...etc. We stayed in the large room near the front of the house with the queen size bed and fireplace. We loved the southwestern decor - the kitchen and sunroom were lovely. The location is in the back of a neighborhood - it is a rather long walk to the main street, but do-able. We usually drove.
Each morning, we woke to the smell of a delicious breakfast. Dani was warm and hospitable from the first second we met her. Like us, she was originally from Virginia and had even worked in Steamboat with a friend of ours. Her breakfasts were FABULOUS and she was so helpful in deciding what activities, hikes, etc. we should check out while in Steamboat. She recommended some wonderful restaurants. She knew I was a dog-lover and even brought over her dogs for me to meet on my birthday (at my request). I can't say enough nice things about Dani - she made our stay the best B&B experience I've had to date. We hope to be back one day!
