“Fine If you are on a budget”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Over from the UK on a freestyle motoring vacation. The Prospector is a no frills very basic motel in the delightly dusty old town of Silverton Colorado. The rooms are clean, not much incoming light so appear a little dull. The bathroom was clean, there is heat and cooling, TV. The water was hot when needed. Andy the propietor is a very likeable man who is concerned about your stay and is there to help if needed. If you want to save a few dollars and dont require upstyled rooms then the Prospector fits the bill. John.

“Comfortable Lodging; Friendly Owner”

This was our second stay with Andy at the Prospector Motel in beautiful Silverton, Co. Our king room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Andy, the owner, was as affable as every, providing helpful information on places to go, things to see and roads to travel. The Prospector is not all shiny new but well-maintained with obvious loving care.

“We will stay here again when we are in the area.”

Don't let the outside fool you. We would stay here again without hesitation. We arrived without a reservation, but the owner, from the midwest was most accomodating to us. Our large room was very clean and quite. There is no pool, but we were there to see the town.

“Quaint Motel in Silverton, CO”

This is a no frills motel that is inexpensive and great for an overnight stay. The motel was clean and we experienced no issues during our stay. Andy was not there when we arrived but had left a note about where our room was and left the keys in the room. He puts fresh designer coffee in the coffee makers each day and made sure that we had everything we needed. This is by no means a resort or bed and breakfast. I would stay at this motel again.

“Another Wonderful Stay at the Prospector”

I couldn't have asked for anything more. The mountains were gorgous; the price was more than reasonable; accommodations were clean; rooms were quiet and Andy, the owner, remains as friendly and as gracious as he has been during my previous stays. I On this particular trip I had business in Durango but stayed at the Prospector and drove into Durango when necessary. The internet service at the motel allowed me to combine business and pleasure in one of the most scenic areas of the country. Thank you Andy!
