Even though some of the reviews of this hotel were not good, we decided to book it for our ski trip to Copper Mountain. It was a two-night stay on Friday and Saturday, so we could hit the slopes and ski school early on Saturday and Sunday.
One key reason was that it had an Old Chicago restaurant in the hotel, which made feeding our two young kids easy. Friday evening was fine, and we got seated right away around 6pm. Saturday, unfortunately, was a mad house already at 5:30pm. Rather than wait for an hour to be seated we decided to place a take-out order, which was supposed to take only 20 to 25 minutes, so we could eat it in the room - the kids were starving. It took nearly an hour to get our take-out order, even after several reminders to the take-out staff. I had to get the manager involved before it was done, and even then the order wasn't right. But by the time we figured this out, we were back in the room and just ate what was there.
Our room on the second floor was good. A little outdated, but clean and spacious. We had a king bed with a sofabed that was good for both of our kids. We had enough room to store our ski items. Bathroom was a little small, so we had to do the going-to-bed-routine in shifts.
The pool was a good distraction for the kids after a day of skiing.
Overall not too bad, and it was easy to get to Copper Mountain (or other ski areas) from the hotel.
