We spent 2 nights at Americas Best Value Inn in Salida, Colorado and found it to be very comfortable. The check-in process was very smooth and although they served a continental breakfast we didn't partake in it. The room was very clean and comfortable with 3 queen size beds, 2 regular beds and a queen that pulled out from the wall, and windows that overlooked a patio. The beds and pillows are on the "firm" side in this particular room. The carpet on the patio was worn, as it was on the stairs also; but that had no negative impact on our stay.
The kids loved the pool and the hot tub and the location was convenient to all the activities that we had planned.
I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone traveling through Salida, especially if you are looking for "a lot of beds for the money"!!

We stayed here with our three kids. They had a great time in the pool. They wanted to stay forever. The rooms were clean and very pleasant. The managers were helpful and went out of their way to provide us with information. They even opened the pool early so the kids could swim. Friendly people, great value. We will definitely stay here again!

Average is the best I can say. I am used to newer hotels, and I don't like little old-looking-and-smelling places. So I didn't like this one, and was glad to leave. The front desk man was nice, and the room had been cleaned (no visible stains or tears anywhere, etc.). But it *was* old, there was some mold in the tile, the outside was not properly cared for, and the outdoor trash cans were overflowing and reeked, and I thought I paid too much for what I got. So if you just want a quiet little place to sleep, this hotel will satisfy you. But don't expect anything more than that.
