We stayed here a few weeks back. The people are very nice. We were tired, and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. I cannot tell you how much that meant after a hectic day. They greeted our dogs with treats, thjey love dogs and it shows! My dogs give this place two thumbs up. There is a place to walk the dogs along the river, it was great. Totally relaxing.
The hot tub is very nice. It is new, and well maintained.
I always stay in large hotels, usually half of the year on the road. This was so different, it was like staying with friends. It was just a very relaxed atmosphere. We will go back.

We travel with our dog and have stayed at the Woodland several times. Not only do they allow her to stay, but they truly welcome her! They even offered us dog bowls and a dog bed. Not many places in this part of Colorado allow pets at all. The rooms are all clean, quiet and reasonably priced and the summer flowers outside are a beautiful welcome.

My wife and I wanted to take a road trip with our two dogs during the end of the year holiday break. Wanting to avoid the highways, we chose Salida because it is located the perfect distance from Denver for a casual drive and an overnight stay. We also wanted to avoid the national chain hotels, and other local hotels indicated that pets were "OK". But when we saw that pets were "Welcome" at the Woodland Motel, we knew we had found our place. The service was very friendly and the room was large and accommodating. The water pressure and quality was great, too. We look forward to coming back to experience what Salida has to offer in the late Spring, and when we do, we will be booking at the Woodland Motel.

The staff was extremely friendly and wanted to cater to my every need. They were concientious of my budget. They offered my dogs a dog bed and dog bowls. They offered to walk my dogs if I left them in the room. They gave me a fridge, a bowl and spoon for my cereal and milk. They were quick to answer phone and be at desk for all my questions. Made me feel at home. The room was very very clean. Very nice flat screen new tv. Coffee in room. Nice hot tub. Very close to town.
Will defintely return.
